an example of how to take immense good-will and flush it....
I'm not sure what happened..... had a product that worked amazing and tried to have it do more was a big mistake I think. Just come out with the garmin 2.0 but maybe with athlon and labradar lx ect maybe they felt they needed to a jump

I got off night shift this morning, was puttering around a bit before going to the range, had the Xero plugged in charging. Got a prompt for an update, hit 'ok' then thought "Oh $hit. I remember reading about a new firmware that caused dropped shots. Damn damn damn. But wait, that was weeks/months ago. Surely they fixed it by now, right?"
Nope.
Those were a 20 shot string followed by three ten shot strings. Totally fucked any usable data collection.

I'm at 3.27, I continue to cancel the update request. I have not dropped a shot ever to date. The update is the issue

Weapon mounted, first time. Planning on trying again tomorrow with it on its tripod on the bench.

Interesting. Is it possible Garmin did something to nerf the effectiveness when it is being gun mounted to deter users from doing it?
May be helpful if other users that have had issues comment if weapon mounted or not.
If that were the case, they would change their statement, which encourages the practice.

This thing has a USB port. Shame on Garmin for not releasing the older firmware and allowing a rollback.
I agree, but I'm still on 3.27. Has anyone tried actually calling Garmin CS and ask them if it is possible, or if they could make it possible? Might get a better response than the silence here.

About the only thing that comes to mind would be *how* it was mounted on the gun yesterday. I had it pretty much all the way back on the fore-end rail (ARC Xylo), and a can out front (Omega 36M w/ ColeTac wrap). The location + the can might have partially occluded the 'view'?
3.30 dropped 4or5 out of 27.

I haven't really had a problem on 3.32 over a couple of hundred shots. 3.30 was a different story.

LOL it’s a manta suppressor cover, I’m seeing if I like it. Jury still out on it. Probably will switch to can chap. That is of course, after I take it to pound town.
57 shots today at the range with 3.32 and zero dropped shots, weapon mounted.
Tried it again today... mounted up front, right at the end of the fore-end (ARC Xylo). 25 shots, all registered. ES/SD sucked a$$, but that's probably a separate issue

When you export your data in metric, SDs are always < 10.
@Garmin, Thank you for replying and reading this thread for user feedback.
but... last range session I missed a couple shots but I probably wasn't waiting for it to reset. My fault. Faster reset would be better if there's any way to do that. I also left it on a buddy's bench to measure his 6.5. The 40 shot string after he picked up his AR didn't help but at least I was able to delete the AR shots. If I could have broken up the "sessions" it would be nice.
2 big complaints,
1. Battery died and I was recharging it. Wouldn't quit popping up the firmware update screen on the C1. I finally hit OK just to get it out of my way and now I have to see how much I messed it up and figure out which firmware I have and update again.
2. Let me edit "sessions" on my phone. Breaking up a string into "sessions" would be great but letting me go back and edit to add to a string of a particular round/rifle would be great and work how it should. (in other words, X1000 posts above)

And since we're making requests ... how about an SD Card slot to make moving data to my PC spreadsheet easier?

I bought mine back in October and just used it for the 1st time yesterday. I downloaded the app months ago. During my 1st string, it asked if I wanted to update, so I did. I didn't know anything Bout these troublesome updates at the time. So anyway, I did the update and proceeded to shoot 30 rounds, 3 (10) Shot strings from an AR 223, and 50 22 LR rounds, 1 (10) Shot string and 2 (20) Shot strings. The Garmin never missed a single one.
But since seeing all this update BS, now I want to know what number I updated thr software to yesterday.
And I agree 110% we need to be able to go back into a session. I take several rifles with me to the range and switch off to let them cool. Yesterday I just had to sit and wait for each to cool after each 5 shot group before switching rifles or loads. Not the end of the world, but hoping they can get enough guys to warrant doing something about it.
