One Big Beautiful Bill Passes the House!

Did Massey vote no? because if he did, he is far from a rhino.

Yes, Massey and Davidson were the two who voted directly against it. Not sure who the "present" voter was nor the two who didn't vote.

Massey may not be a RINO, but the problem is we can't allow the Dems any wiggle room whatsoever to get back into power, nor can we see our taxes go sky high. I know Massey and the like want to see more cuts as do I, but this may involve a few baby steps. The "greater good" is getting the One Big Beautiful Bill passed, and Massey & Co put that at risk.

Is it true that there is talk of a no tax stamp on suppressor in the bill?

According to Jarred of "Guns & Gadgets," the full Hearing Protection Act was included in the Big Beautiful Bill and was passed. The SHORT act was not. But they're trying to see if they can get a Senator to add an amendment to the Bill to bring back the SHORT act. We'll see.

Not sure on social security but from the way I understand it the overtime tax is kind of a joke it’s a deduction at the end of the year, for single under $160k I believe it’s a $10k deduction and married under $200k it’s a $20k deduction, I was looking forward to that because I work 20 days out of the month and usually have 70-80 ot hrs on my check. If you make more than $200k married you don’t even get it.

Most states don’t tax SS.

P

No, but the Feds will still tax social security benefits if your "other income" exceeds a certain threshold. It's a crazy formula. Furthermore, one still has to pay FICA tax on the "other income" earned. Not sure which of these the bill was supposed to address, but...

While I'm glad many of the items in the bill have passed the House, I thought conservatives were against giant bills containing every item under the sun. Weren't we promised by this House Speaker small, streamlined bills with direct focus on single spending/tax issues vs a bill of 1,000 pages or more that was certainly not read by all members of Congress before voting?

Someone like Massey who voted "no" on conservative principles is not a RINO.

SALT deduction is terrible. Why should the Fed Gov allow for tax deductions on money paid in the form of state and local taxes? You want to live in a high tax area, don't ask the rest of the federal taxpayers to allow a deduction for your wanting high taxes. There should be consequences for living in high tax areas and one of those consequences shouldn't be getting the rest of us to pay for your way of life.

This bill is nowhere near what we were promised, what we voted for. Massie is definitely not a RINO. I would say all the republicans that did vote for it could be RINOs because there is so much more that should have been done and the Republicans squandered the opportunity!!

Saving $200 on a can would be great, but I would rather keep silencers in the NFA and stop paying tax on my taxes. I must be behind the curve, but I cannot understand why Republicans are against the property tax deduction. The House increased the deduction, but it should be 100%.

That would be dumb because it'll be hard to get it through the house for another vote

TBH it will be a miracle if it passes the Senate as-is because of all the dumb cunts up in there

Massie is definitely not a RINO
He's not a rino but he is a retard.

Those taxes are pretty hard on career landlords. Imagine buying a product, paying a heavy sales tax, selling for a modest profit, and then having Uncle Sam tell you the sales tax was also profit. That's what it's like. A lot of landlords are paying more in property taxes than most people earn, and then Uncle Sam says, "You know all that money you gave your state, which you no longer have? Give me a big chunk of it."

Come to think of it, I also pay sales tax on rent received.

What other absolutely heinous shit is hiding in this? Semi serious question, I’m sure it’s bloated with a bunch of fucking garbage
You don’t want to know. It smells bad and the more you look the worse it smells. They know what they are doing. They playing chess while everyone else playing checkers.

There you go being stupid again, “ I would rather keep silencers in the NFA”. I read the first two words of this, quit reading, and knew I didn’t give a shit immediately.

That was the purpose of caping it at $10,000 the first time, to get the people to vote out the fuckers that were taxing them so much.

Turns out people are fucking stupid and it didn’t work since they blamed the Republicans and voted harder democrat as a result. This is the republicans trying to gain some of those people back.

Phone numbers included below:

Senator Steve Danes: 202-224-2651
Senator Ted Cruz: 202-224-5922
Senator Mike Crapo: 202-224-6142
Capitol Switchboard: 202-224-3121

And add Senator John Cornyn 202-239-1310; Tell him that his only hope of getting reelected is to right the wrong he has done to 2A community. In order to right the wrong he must start by demanding that the SHORT Act be included in the reconciliation bill!

Also hit up all of their X (Twitter) feeds!

If the short act gets in it my prediction is that it dies in the House (if it's amended they have to vote again as part of conciliation iirc) and they will pass another continuing resolution instead. It narrowly went through the last time.

Yeah the man is so retarded. Having principles is totally retarded.

He voted no on this, if we get suppressors/short act it will be in spite of his principles. See that's why "Small Government Principled Conservatives" never actually get anything done. They're the same con artists as other politicians just with a different shtick.
