Remember our fallen.
Appreciate their sacrifice.
Pray for our Republic.

June 1994 the , weekend of the OJ bronco chase, that's how I remember when. I was in Virginia with the woman I was dating at the time to meet her parents.
Anyway, went to DC to do some sight seeing. I got to see the Vietnam Memorial wall. Have to admit I was very moved by it. To see all the names not just numbers in an article or report. Those names are/were real life people who served and died for their country. To see people there looking for the names of friends or relatives on the wall, then using paper and pencil and stenciling the name. Everyone should be required to see it or Arlington Cemetery , look at the names and realize they were real people. Politician should be forced to look at it before being allowed to vote on weapons or getting our military involved in wars.

I’m retired, but work part-time at a state VA cemetery. We’re having an annual Memorial Day service tomorrow that draws ~~1,000 maybe 1,500 visitors. If you’re near Racine, WI check it out. Yesterday, a couple co-workers plus a few AMVETS volunteers put up an additional 120 flags throughout the cemetery, for the service. Very awe-inspiring.
