Rifle Scopes March 5-42 Gen 2 PRS Edition

Wow all thsss guys with Thetas all have experiences sending them back… hmmm I have two of those stories of my own if you’d like to hear them. Thetas simply haven’t held up well and many of them have failed when they are actually used in competition unfortunately.
Slow down now sport. Every brand goes back for warranty work . ZCO, TT, Vortex, Kahles, NF, S&B, March, Leupold. I know or have personally sent back multiple examples of all of them and that's a crazy small sample size. If you shoot you are going to see everything fail. If you want to shoot a brand that doesn't fail, you will be shooting open sights. It's why everyone who is semi serious has at least 2 scopes and why the customer service /warranty process is an important factor in choosing an optic.

Never said they didn’t I just simply said man look at the Theta experiences and that I have had a few of them myself. Thetas have had quite a few go back in fact they now have a reputation for it. Isn’t my opinion it’s fact in the prs community.

This.

I know people who won't shoot ZCOs because of the issues they've had, so they shoot TTs instead.

People are so cliquish around optics it's pretty funny.

Their owners also have a much higher standard and are more likely to send them in for minor things. I bought one used and the turrets didn't have the same feel as my other ones. Still perfectly usable and if you didn't own another one or compared it to other alpha scopes you would have no idea there was an issue. So I sent it on, they replace some oring and cleaned the whole thing. Back to my house in a week. Scope was perfectly useable before I sent it off and most people would never know there was even an issue. They serviced it and paid for it both ways no question asked. Probably cost them a few hundred bucks total to make a customer happy.

The entire elevation ring on my vortex gen 3 broke loose during a match. Same deal out and back within about a week and they paid for it.

They are not the same types or severity of failures.

That's because in their little box that's all they see. A small sample that's not representative of the entire product. But I understand, people only know what they know or see. But they are also missing out on some great stuff due to statistical anomalies. And I say this as a ZCO owner who has had to send them back yet I have a new one getting delivered this week to add to stockpile.

Shot a Kahles 540 today and I really liked it. Might grab one of them and a match to see how they stack up in a match setting with the zcos.

Honestly its not just optics. Everyone is cliquish around every brand regardless of product category. Suppressors are a big one. If someone asks about suppressors you can just about guess which brand a particular profile/person will suggest regardless if its relevant to the OP's topic or not.

I'm not saying this to knock ZCO, I'm saying this to highlight how cliquish our community is, especially when it comes to scopes.

Anytime someone says they don't shoot 'X' brand of scope because of issues, take it with a very heavy grain of salt.

People really want confirmation bias around the suppressors they buy, more than anything else in this industry.
