We'll be announcing the winner early next week, keep an eye out!
See the contestThere is a buffer system that will allow different manufacturers magazines simply by unscrewing a buffer. There will be a video soon to show this feature. This might be a dumb question, but when you discuss Vudoo vs RimX mags, are you simply referring to your rifle and adjusting a mag catch? Or are you referring to design changes?
Correct. After sending about 30 fouler shots, my first 40 rds were averaging 1048. Eventually I believe it was up to 1058. It was incredibly accurate with that lower velocity. By comparison my Vudoo was 1098 in the heat of the afternoon in Huntsville. It was incredibly humid as well.@J_D So by slow I am guess your talking velocity wise?
Hope your competition goes well. When you get a chance to catch your breath it would be nice if you could quantify that and maybe explain why you/Kenny think that is so. Thanks for the report nevertheless. It’s also considerably slower than any Rimfire I’ve shot to date.
That’s awesome I had some eley in a test brick from Whidden that was outstanding and ran 1050-1060 but by the time I tested and went to order it was all gone.Correct. Slower to operate or muzzle velocity?Quick update………the rifle is everything I expected. It’s still an untreated bare metal action, but the modularity is impressive and the accuracy surpassed my already lofty expectations. It’s currently setup for Vudoo mags, but I think going to RimX mags are the next option, hopefully for next weekend so people can play with it.
I honestly believe it’ll surpass anything that’s currently on the market. It’s also considerably slower than any Rimfire I’ve shot to date.
After 25+ years of chasing the precision rimfire game I have come to this exact same conclusion. About 15 years ago I settled on 24”-27” being my preferred barrel length (really the 25”-26” is my first choice). I believe that it slows ammo down far enough away from the transonic flight to create a much more stable / consistent bullet flight & the extra time in the bore allows for the soft bullet (which may not be perfect in shape or seating) to better stabilize while in the bore.Since I test every rifle before leaving the shop, I've been able to test all sorts of theorys in 22lr accuracy. Barrel speed seems to fall into barrel length / accuracy "nodes" and certain barrel manufacturers perform best at these nodes. Chamber Jam points also play factor in this. For majority of barrels at 22-24" I've found they typically like lots that shoot around a 1065-1090 range out the muzzle. 25-26in at 1035-1060 fps range and prefer less cartridge jam. Thiers typically a 20-30 fps difference in my barrels due to the alloy steel. DPG barrels run slightly slower with the trade off of not being lot picky. Other barrel manufacturers with tighter bores or thier 416r grade steel may run faster.
Those that shoot Eley, at 26in, brings velocities down to 1085 and keep you away from transonic/super. I personally don't see accuracy degradation at distances 300-400 yards even with ammo that is shooting 1030 FPS. I have an AR22 that will mirror a bolt gun accuracy at distances like this. Again, this is based off quantified data recorded over 4K 22lr rifle builds.
In general when it comes to accuracy performance alone, .22LR shooters need not be concerned with keeping away from transonic/super velocities.keep you away from transonic/super
Will do.Please get some Video/pics if allowed to share-would love to see in action at Gravestone.
Got the ok and first Patent claims approved and the OK from the Patent attorney to discuss. This im excited about.... Maybe a bold claim, but I think I found a way to eliminate mag feeding issues Permanently while having the ability to adapt other mag platforms into a Rem 700 clone chassis and action
Also, got the first couple of actions back from Nitride coating. Significant difference in feel and function. Shot 400 rounds just this afternoon and barely any wearView attachment 8707812

Kenny made it clear that he is making lefties so I think we will be alright. I’m buying day one if he has lefties available on release. We might be waiting awhile for a lefty.
Left bolt right port please. Need it for f class and BenchTheir will be lefties available when these are released for purchase. Boss of DPG is a lefty and made it very important to offer left options. See post #37
Also, just wanted to get a general idea how much interest is their for a opposing ejection port??
Right Hand Bolt with left port eject??
Left Hand Bolt with right port eject??
Tag your responses if this is an option you guys want. Most BR folks prefer this configuration for ease of use to load. Ive been told PRS guys can benefit for direct LOS of the ejection port incase of malfunctions, trade off spent brass flys in your field of view
Big thanks to everyone who attended the Best of the West 22lr Match at Gravestone. We had dozens stop by and checkout our new rifles. It was an honor to R.O stage 1 and see many talented shooters clean this stage. @Shayne Ward. Hosted an awesome match and thank you Gravestone for having us! @J.D for keeping us cool and hydrated
Lots of folks showed overwhelming support and excitement of the new action. Lots of great feedback and positive reactions. Many got to see in person these features work in person and we are excited to push forward in production. We are taking feedback to decrease bolt lockdown pressure by adding more caming force and reduced chamber jam. Both rifles ran through 700+ rounds at this match without issues except a broken 3D printed mag buffer. Very surprising to see it still hold up during the heat as we expected this to break earlier.
Big thanks to MDT for the support and 1 on 1 feedback from the pro shooters. They where super excited to try it out and absolutely loved how It performed and ran. Cleaning a 250 yatd KYL ending with a 2in plate rack right out of the rifle case this morning cold bore without the rifle being cleaned.
Im excited to know only minor improvements are needed and taking feedback on ejection port preference. We are soooo close to a perfected product and still ahead of schedule!!
Our team enjoyed the company of Mr. David Lott @DI Precision and his valuable feedback and expirence in this sport and building some of the best 22lr rifles.
Have you ever tried a left-hand bolt? I used to do the same thing as you and got a left-hand rifle, and it was night and day.I'm left handed but have always shot right handed. Right bolt with right ejection

Of course you do. I’m sure that there’s money that’s just itching to be used…Yes I did try a left hand rifle, but no I never gave it a chance. Was being pestered none-stop and I just said yes to get the guy to be quiet. Ran a magazine and said no thank you. I do need to give it an actual try, just to see
It’s huge when you’re shooting on the clock. Pulling your support hand off of the rifle to run the bolt is detrimental to accuracy. I can assure you that it will be well worth it. Yes, But will be implemented later. Priority will be to have a bullet proof functioning action and get it to our 44 clients that swapped. Ill be focusing on AICS mags for the initial launch, then CZ457 as I already have majority of that modeled and rapid prototyping for T&EYou mentioned you may be able to get a buffer made so that you can run T1x or CZ457 magazines.
How likely is this to happen, or is it just a maybe?
Being able to run T1x mags would be a game changer for me, definitely a very very appealing feature.
Yeah perfectly understandable.Yes, But will be implemented later. Priority will be to have a bullet proof functioning action and get it to our 44 clients that swapped, not seeing promise of getting firing pin assemblies to meet our timeline so ill now have to invest in a swiss lathe or find a way to make my own. Ill be focusing on AICS mags for the initial launch
I'd take LH bolt any ejection port, but a left bolt/right port would certainly get my $$$. Better start saving now.Left bolt / right port interest here
Hey Kenny, just to be clear, my request is in addition to my current order which would be for the initial offering of RH Bolt/ RH port and the a second order (when offered) for RH bolt/ LH Port.Honestly, I am not smart enough to know as I haven't started BR shooting. The closest is "approximating" my heavy chassis with an ARCA front rest adapter and front rest with a paired rear rest, but still using RH Bolt and RH port.
With Kenny's new mag block adapter to adapt for single feed...
FOMO....I'm in for a RH BOLT / LH EJECTION PORT setup. Luckily I have another spare chassis (MPA BA Comp) unused, now it will be earmarked for this future action.
