I've had both, but sold the PII.

Try Nordic Marksman. I believe they used to import the Styria Arms AICS BM, and had a supply of SSG69 parts at one time.
Cheaper, yes.
Just as good, I don't know, as I never purchased the Styria Arms unit.
However, on the Waters Rifleman unit I had, the magazine had a TON of play. It rattled around a LOT in the magazine well. All of the AICS magazines I tried in it (AI and MDT) required significant tweaking of the feed lips to work correctly. If I were to do it over again I would probably splurge for the Styria.

Let me first say that I love shooting precision but it's gotten "mundane" for me. So I've started moving into the "older" technology and love making them work. M40A1, M40, M1903A4, etc. It feels a lot more satisfying with something "dated" (not calling any of you dated FYI) when you make a shot.
So I'm wondering what scope fits the era and the aesthetics of what might be found on an SSG 69. I am more leaning towards a fixed 10 power although that isn't set it stone. I know originally the SSG69 was generally paired with the Kahles ZF69 in a fixed 6 power.

I have the Styria unit in steel.
Actually, I have returned to use the factory plastic mags. I recently bought enough of them, and a spare bottom "metal". I shoot unsupported "off hand" comps and for me the P2 26" lost the "Perazzi balance" with AICS hardware.
Give them a call , they're typically pretty good with getting back.
Took the Steyr SSG 69 PII out today. 5 rounds cold bore and I think it was pretty decent, especially since I was running the CHEAPEST 308 Match ammo available which is the PPU brand.
My ssg69 shoots .5" groups with my handloads very easily. It is a sleeper let me tell you. One of my favorite rifles. SOO fuckin mad I didnt get what I thought was a lame attempt at updating a classic (the 'tacticool bolt knobbed, threaded muzzle w/ no iron sights) SSG from CDNN 10 plus years ago. MAN what I would give to have a threaded ssg with a slightly heavier barrel these days....
Well I've called and left a message and multiple emails to Nordic, someone even gave me the owner's call phone number to text him and not a single response.
Brad at Nordic is a good guy that runs a standup business, It is a long awaited summer in his neck of the woods, and may have shut down for a vacation. Give him time and you will hear back.
I picked up my conversion directly from Michael at Styria. Fantastic gentleman to do business with. The bottom metal is made from a special aluminum now and is of typical Teutonic, Austrian quality. Seamless installation and function. Highly recommended!
Yup we finally touched bases. He said he would look into bringing the Styria kits in although he has to do a minimum order of 25 units so he's a little hesitant.
Contact Michael at Styria directly. He will ship directly to you and do all the customs paperwork as long as Canada will allow the import of that part.

Waters Rifleman in Australia make a aluminium billet magazine for the SSG - and a bunch of other rifles, including long 223 mags for T3s.
