Gunsmithing Problems dealing with Curtis Customs?

Has anybody else had problems dealing with Curtis customs. I placed an order with Chase Curtis over the phone for x lite rifle paid in full was told it was a 6 week lead time and that’s also what his website claims it’s now going on 18 weeks and he hasn’t respond to my phone call or emails now. It seems like he’s lying to me saying it’s shipping for the last few weeks. I drew an Idaho sheep tag this year that starts Aug. 30 and I sold my other custom hunting setup after I placed my order with him on feb. 21 thinking I’d have it in a reasonable time. Kinda screwing me over for getting the shooting in I wanted to and at this point I don’t know if I’ll even get it before the season starts. From what I’m reading more online this might be kinda typical for him?

Well damn I don’t know if that’s supposed to make me feel better or not. Well how’s his actions actually then if you can get one in ur hands thought I heard good things about them. My brother has one of the early actions back when I guess Joel Russo was there it seem good and super smooth. I guess I didnt realize the down fall of the Curtis name and how he’s sucks to deal with.

The owner of Curtis doing some seriously shady shit is the reason Terminus exists, GAP no longer uses them for PPR's, MPA no longer uses them for their production guns, and are really no longer liked as a whole. You'd be better off filing a chargeback and seeing about another option from a different company.

I swear, it infuriates me to see folks treat their customers that way. When my customers go on about my great service I’m always surprised. I don’t really think I’m doing anything “special”. I tell them thanks but really that is the same as being impressed your refrigerator is cold. For me it’s pretty core stuff. Either you treat your customers right or do something else.

Well I got a tracking # from Curtis and it shows it shipped today and he did next day air it for me so I will give him that. Hopefully she shoots.

my several experiences with chase have been fantastic. I had a similar situation with Joel that went on and on for 9 or 10 months and I finally gave up. Seems to just be something that happens with manufactured stuff in the gun world. sorry you had a hard time, but glad you got it worked out.

Yea rifle looks good and I was little stressed out with the time frame I had not that I didnt have other rifles I could have used but nothing I had a bunch of confidence in. It all worked out just gotta get shooting.

I don't want to get into being critical. I've told the story here before and it wasn't just me. If you'd like to know details pm me and I will but it wasn't good. My point wasn't to dog Joel, he was always nice to me and make a great product. Every outfit has issues, such is the way of things.
