Suppressors Best thread locker for muzzle devices?

Update - I reinstalled the suppressor/device to the barrel with 272 loctite per the instructions on a TBAC youtube video. Good news - the brake is on. Bad news - I now can't get my suppressor off of the brake. I have no idea why it is apparently fused on. The suppressor threaded onto the brake without issue at the range.

Carbon locked. The locking and sealing taper is behind the threads on a CBA mount so the threads fill with carbon. I went through an anti-sieze phase and then just said F' it and let the mounts stay in the can after a while. Now I just direct thread all my TBAC cans. When you want to clean the can, after a couple of soaks in CLR you'll be able to pull the mount out of the can to open up access to the blast chamber to clean all the gunk out which will be a fair amount of carbon weight.

You'll want to invest in a strap wrench. Even a cheap one will do.

Hi all,

I have my TBAC CB brake installed with rocksett. Twice now when I tried to take my can off the brake came with.

What is a better threadlocker for a muzzle device?
I’m unsure if there are multiple types of rocksett. I used blue locktite for my muzzle devices for several months and at least 60% of the time when I tried to remove a hot suppressor it took off the muzzle device. I switched to the Rocksett for muzzle devices on 6 rifles and have yet to have a muzzle device come off in any capacity.

I have been using red loctite for my muzzle devices for a while now.
Like you, I found rocksett just didn't always hold.
If I ever needed to remove the muzzle device, a propane torch, lightly heating the muzzle works great to melt the loctite and it removes easily.

I've been using Rocksett for years on many muzzle devices and have not had one come off unless I wanted it to come off. Surface prep is key.
100%! If you didn’t properly degrease and clean both the threads and the internal threads on the device then it will come off as it didn’t properly bond. Prep the surface right and it will hold.

You can try some kroil oil on it, to get through the threads. I use a small bit of antisieze on all my cans, no more issues!
