Anyone know a good place to get a pocket watch repaired/restored? My wife has her great grandfather's pocket watch and we would like to get it working and restored.

I want pics of the old DE.OK I'll play ... Daytona + GMT2 (the daily beater)View attachment 8720171
You commenting on the 'Lume' quality. A bunch of miro brands are now offering the Superluminova on the hands and markers. Seiko's Lume is one of the best out there forever, but i think the superluminova is a touch better for holding a charge. there is a couple other lumination formulas out there to like Noctiluma . I got a couple of Micro's with the swiss Tritium ' T100 ' vials in them, and they are outstanding .There's a shit ton of micro brands out there. This design caught my eye and the price was well worth it. It actually wears quiet well and the lume is some of the best I've seen. Sellita movement alone was worth the price.
Clearly, you're at least a bit retarded so let me spell it out for you. The Rolex caliber 3235 movement is one of the most accurate movements ever made. All of mine run and are certified to be no more than 2 seconds off in any 24hr period. Two of mine are at about 1 second. Now take into account that they are a 31 jewel with 70 hours of reserve. They have some of the brightest Superluminova made.Really.
It has nothing whatsoever to do with the machine of the watch. Take that same movement out and put it in a no name brand and 99% of the wankers that buy them would not. It is nothing but a status symbol.
So yes you are symbolism over substance, you are a hollow bag of nothing.
Personally I like the watches that the shallow idiots that buy that brand have zero clue as to what they are. Look at a Seiko and it could be a $100, $1000, or $10000 watch and people that want a rolex for no other reason then the name, and Really that is their market now will have zero clue as to what it is, and likely to think it is a $100 watch. Other names like Zenith they will think the TV company made it....I will wait while you google Zenith to see that they really make watches.
Wow your desire to defend your position is amazing, I bet you voted for Harris with the way your so called mind works. Now hop in your BMW don't use turn signals and pull out infront of a tractor trailer.Clearly, you're at least a bit retarded so let me spell it out for you. All of the alloys used are from their own smelters including their 904L stainless, because they couldn't get their required specs from any other supplier of alloys. Everything on the watch is in house including the action which is mostly hand assembled and QC'ed to the highest standards. My DeepSea dweller is certified to 12,800 ft deep so I'd say their seal systems are pretty damn good as well.
The ceramic bezels are very sharp and almost un-scratchable. And finally every one I've purchased, I've made money on! The last one I bought is the Batman in my pic, I paid $11,100 new at my authorized Rolex dealer three weeks ago. It has a current resale value of approximately $18,000.
But Yeah, I'm about symbolism over substance. Moron.
I'm tired of your unintelligent blather. Fuck off.Wow your desire to defend your position is amazing, I bet you voted for Harris with the way your so called mind works. Now hop in your BMW don't use turn signals and pull out infront of a tractor trailer.
My entry in the contest....OK, Out of curiosity ? . . Who are the Biggest Watch Whores on this time piece/watches Thread .
I talking about more than 5-6-10 . I know there got to be a couple of real sick bastard here, with a drawer just stuffed full of watches, and most of them they probably rarely wear.
.
I'd say you're the big winner !!
I wouldn't agree that the only people who buy rolex want them because of the hype, but I do know that there are only a few models that I am interested in. I'm still fairly uninformed but I can tell you that I'd much rather have an El Primero than a Daytona (even one with an El Primero movement), that there are many (Grand) Seikos that I'd buy long before many rolex models, and that I'm much more interested in most JLC vs AP watches. The history and mechanical aspects play into my choices, fags on ticktock have zero influence. I might be in the minority here, but I can appreciate a steel Sub or Seadweller or GMT, vintage or ceramic, without being a jerkoff. Just like I want an AI or Parker SxS.
