Be nice to see IP do an early release of just a few units. Hope the PP works well. If I had not purchased the electronics for the IP I might switch over.
Got my PP yesterday. It works well with Varget. Not so well with 8208, but I might try that again.

What was 8208 doing? Not sure many of us tested it since it's not all that common anymore. Powder database shows it's average diameter is less than varget, so it should work ok in the varget disc.
The testers have found that taking a slow mo video of the trickler while running can be helpful to diagnose any issues.
VERY strange results. Calibration didn’t work right and the bulk dispenser was not working correctly. Dumped it out, filled with Varget and it ran like a champ.
I am going to try it again when I have time and will take video. Maybe it just had some first time jitters.

I think everyone should just give up on that one and move on lol then maybe he might get it to market but idk.
I keep thinking how support moving forward will be if that other product ever gets released.
Yes, and one of the biggest mistakes imo was the option of paying for the 50% solution that came out a couple months ago. No incentive to release the product when "good enough" sells.

Talking to Mr PP, it may have just been some static that builds up in the bubble wrap during shipping. Running powder through it can help with this, but you can always give all the parts a good rub down with a dryer sheet. They are treated with a graphite spray and all have powder run through them before they are shipped, but different environments can act differently. With 38.5 gr of RL-15, average dispensing time is 8.4 seconds. Add maybe a second for the scale to settle. This is "fast enough", because faster would not help me (it takes longer to seat and wipe the HBn off the bullet).
Stats, from 30 throws (one overthrow was omitted):

- The simplicity of the thing is perfect. I have zero interest in fussing with fine-tuning settings.
- On start-up it it calibrated itself to the powder loaded in the bulk and trickle dispenser. You can re-calibrate it if desired.
- The controls are simple.
- The lights are simplicity itself. Yellow is running, green is done, and red is overthrow.
- Putting the parts together was simple and fast.
- Fit and finish is good for a printed product.
- Removing the powder when one is finished is simple and certainly fast enough. Great design there. You just pickup the bulk dispenser and tilt it into a funnel in your powder jug. The powder flows out and you're done.
- The instructions for scale setup were correct.
- For fun I ran 100gr loads, took about 11 seconds dispensing time.
- The manufacturer is responsive to questions.
- The shot glass is a nice touch. After loading, one can rinse it out and enjoy some fine Scotch.
So I either switch to a stick powder or stay with my excellent-but-slow RCBS Matchmaster.For those running stick powder, the PP Trickler seems like an obvious choice within the current field of precise & fast automatic powder dispensers.

Glad to see these get into more hands. At the price point, we believe people will be very happy with them. The creator is working hard to make things happen, as with anything, learning things along the way in terms of logistics.
Calibration is still off with 8208 XBR. The bulk powder drop is ~2.45x the amount shown on the controller screen.

My assumption was that I have a scale config option wrong, but why would Varget work perfectly then?
Amazingly, it still did very well on the powder drops. Not as good as Varget, but it was coming within .02gr almost every time even though the error value was .04 or .06.
The videos below are just two powder configs...not powder drops to a specific number. I assume this is what Mr. PP and the early testers want to see. I am going to mess with N133 next and then back to Varget to confirm it works as expected.

First off if you hear that grinding sound on the bulk, you need to empty the hopper, pull the disc out and give everything a good blowing out
D). That sound means something is getting jammed up somewhere and it will throw off the cal.Also I think you have too much in the trickler. If the powder is building up at the top near the exit hole, you may be getting spillage that throws off the cal too. Cut back until it's staying more down around the sides, I usually start with about 1 charged cases' worth and go from there. You'll get a feel for it.
You are looking for something like this:
Verify all the scale settings are correct.
Then I'd do a couple configuration runs and try it again.
Mine did a few overthrows at the beginning as well. It's supposed to learn as it goes, so you might let it throw 10-12 and go from there. Not a huge deal if you're loading a good amount of cases at one time.
The easiest way to know if you got a good calibration is to look at the reported per-kernel weight and make sure it's reasonable. varget/h4350 should be in the .02-.03 range. If it's lower than that you prob have too much in the trickler and are getting double drops. If it's higher, you might be getting a lot of blank slots for some reason. Also yes, it will learn and adjust constantly, but the first few throws might be more likely to be overs as it locks in.
To dump the trickler just pull the whole thing off the base and dump it. Be careful if you didn't tape or glue the two base pieces together that you don't have too much in the bulk hopper or it can tip.

Based on my limited experience, I agree. The manual says (from memory) 35-75gr of powder. But overall if it's climbing the disk on the outside, imperfect things happen.
To be fair, some other products have had more than a year to build up a queue. Once the PPTrickler is proven, I expect some will come over.
Just noticed the part about CE Products - good news. That's where I got the scale, good service and quick shipping.

Ok I got mine working pretty good now. Turned it on today and started the calibration process then started throwing 33.3 of varget and all were spot on but a couple over throws at 33.34 rest were all good. Speed is great I mean if you are doing charges and anything else the charges are done first. Didn’t time them. So I think the initial over charges were just a fluke or it needed to be run more. It’s proably still thrown less then a 100 charges. Anybody got ideas for a handle for the shot glass?
