The politicians knew exactly what they were doing in 1997 when they set the still current $250k individual $500k joint capital gains deduction without anchoring it to CPI at a minimum, or better yet to median home prices which have greatly outpaced CPI. Those same deductions would be ballpark $500k/$1M now if they were tied to CPI. They knew they’d be raking it in later on because median home prices are guaranteed to rise over time.

1997 median home price was $115k (CPI adjusted $230k), now it’s $430k.

This bill will fail, most dems are beholden to “Only rich people we want to tax more own homes” while the few others won’t give the people a win if it looks like it was the right’s idea. Quite a few in the GOP won’t vote for an unfunded tax cut, and I didn’t see a single provision for that side in the bill’s text. I suggest eliminating the EPA and ATF to fund it.

Eliminate 16th Amendment, fed and state should not tax based upon income. To some extent, it disincentivizes the quest to earn more.FOSHO NOMO tax on SS benefits.
Eliminate 17th Amendment, Senators now spend more effort being re-elected and pandering to money than representing their state. Return to the time where they could be recalled mostly at will by their state.
Eliminate 19th Amendment, wtf were they even thinking?
Modify 22nd Amendment, the founders of this republic never intended politics be a profession and no kings. Extend to all 3 branches of guv
Eliminate 23rd Amendment, want to vote on POTUS? Move. The swamp there is real. Less guv, less support for that guv. LOTS less drug fueled parties would happen.
Eliminate property tax or restrict votes to property owners.
No tax of any sort on any firearms related item.
To carry the sentiment. free speech and all...no tax on paper, pens, ink, internet, computers, microphones, speakers, tvs....
Penalty of life in prison or possible execution for fed/state/local reps/employee/etc for violating any rights of citizens

this is the 1st basic truth of taxation. you,or the bank,don't own it. the gov does. don't pay,they will take it. resist that and they will be happy to kill you. income tax is different. they take the $s before you even have a chance to not pay. they'd have to kill too many people if paying was done after you got the $s first. the tax code is made so complex that anybody with anything but a W-2 can't understand it and will always break some law that even CPAs don't know about. also,creates the $300/hr CPA crowd that many are forced to use. i do despite my simple and limited income. keeps somebody between me and the IRS that has a vested interest in knowing and following the rules.
of course the bottom line on all taxes is the lack of representation before they are levied. our "representatives" are all corrupt parts of the brute force system which we pay for. does anyone really believe that there is any substantive difference between the USA,the USSR,Nazi Germany? China is just ahead of the curve but palantir will help close the gap.

Shit, as a farmer, I get the money and then come mar 1st I send a yuge check to irs(state and fed). Thats the real punishment, having to write those mfers a check for 15-25k.
