Lightning strikes from The last 24 hours as reported by North Zone. Almost 19k down strikes. We are watching the fires starting to pop up all over.

The lightning has been getting more violent on a fast track
I can't believe we haven't been out on more fires
But been around long enough to know it's coming as we move into August and the grass dries down further
It's gonna be an SOB that will rival 2012 I'm afraid.
I'm getting too old for this shit but will respond to every page.
Thank God we have a good bunch of young guys on the dept.

First harvest.. .this is the early ones. 200+- blueberry and raspberry bushes within 20 reet of my front door. Turnovers for breakfast. Tomorrow, probably enough for 1 or maybe 2 pies. If the bears don't get there first.

Coons are getting mine. Setting a trap tonight and every night until I get bored with not catching anything.

Years (and years and years) ago a fiend of mine flew from Missouri up to Chicago to interview for a job. He and the job contact ended up at the bar doing small talk. Started chatting about my friend training jumping mules and how they were used when coon hunting. Usually ride through the woods at night following the dogs until you hear they got one up a tree. If you come to a fence, get off and lead the mule up to the fence till he touches the top wire or rail. Then he knows how high to jump, he'll clear the fence, you crawl over, remount and on your way. When you get to the dogs, and the treed coon, shine a bright light up the tree and you'll see their eyes shining and you shoot 'em.

After talking for a while this local guy sitting next to them taps my friend on the shoulder and asks "Don't you get in trouble"?

Thank you,
MrSmith

If you set up a Roku tv at the far end of your property and use a YouTube feed put on Good Times and The Jeffersons, they will leave your fruit plants alone.

his quotes for a 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom are accurate in the PHX area. rent prices are fk'n crazy. sure, you can say....
move......to where rent's cheaper.
you will find cheaper rent with lower wages. so, even if he was to move, he still couldn't afford rent.
A person could afford a house on minimum wage in the 50's.. it has just gotten worse

On apartments.com are 1472 listings under $1k a month with air conditioning. In Phoenix.

I was out on my own decades ago at 18. My take home pay was $140 a week. My apartment was $280, utilities $40 bucks or so, gassed up once a week for $15 bucks or so. My job had a cafeteria so that people didn't wander off at lunch, the food sucked I ate it every day.

I took a second job at a bar for my 19th birthday, the legal drinking age. Friday, Sat and Sunday nights earned me about $90 dollars.

My shifts at regular work started at 8am. If you got there early you could clock in as soon as someone called for service. That was two glorious hours of overtime a week.

Going to the beach was almost free. Gas money and lunch in a cooler. Fishing in the nearby lake with my buddies was cheap fun. We grilled hotdogs because hamburger cost too much.

Every now and then my dad would stop by and take me to lunch. He spent his spare time fucking and drinking at a local country bar. My girlfriend's mom would bring over a couple of bags of groceries once in a while. It was like finding a 20 on the sidewalk.

Yeah its tough but he is far from the only person to do it.

Depends on where you live. Got a pal in San Antonio, he pays $1600 p/month for a small 2 bdrm. Lets split the difference.

$1200 rent ( nearly 4000 listings under $1k per month)
$300 month electric/gas/water/sewer/trash (water/sewer/trash are free at most apartment complexes, my power bill was $140 last month for a four bedroom house)
$400 food (Not including alcohol)
$100 month phone and internet
$500 auto payment/insurance ( buy a hooptie)
$100 haircuts, mis expense
(wont include $200 Health insurance)

$2600 expenses minus his $2500 salary, leaves him at neg

I still cannot afford private jet travel and my helicopter is in the shop. The American dream must be dead.

Listening to a guy who is two weeks into his 40-50 year working career pissing and moaning isn't making me cry.

ative $50 at the end of the month.

My Grandson got a job , worked 2 days and called off on the third, tired of working.

Myself, the wife and my grown daughter switched to G43X for carry but around the farm here and beside the bed I keep a G19 or 17.

I had a Dagger FS/S which is a G45 type configuration and liked it but sold it to a friend’s SIL who only had a couple dollars and was about to buy a Taurus 😅 I figure I saved him from a bad road.

I like messing with clones, I am a big fan of the Grit Grips frames but currently they are just 19 size. Supposedly they have a 43X and 45/19X frame coming but 🤷🏼‍♂️

I handled a G45 some recently and already knew I really like the 19 slide on a longer grip.

Rules (my G43X)

I have a 43X COA on order right now. Any modifications or upgrades you recommend?

@Lawless

Was turned on to this company by a well respected member here.

Said they have proven awesome so far.

SCT is a great company. The frames are not agreeable with my hands though. I shot a few mags through a micro SCT build and it hurt me some. They don’t seem to move around in your hand however.

Ours are bone stock factory. I have sometimes put triggers or connectors in Glocks I carried but I plan to leave these as they are….maybe a set of big dot style sights if anything. Triggers on micro Glocks are really great IMHO as well as Gen5 guns. I eventually will put an optic on mine and already have a DPP titanium plate for a Holosun K footprint. I have a Dot on a GG19 and honestly am still not as proficient as I strive to be so until singularity is reached I am carrying irons. You default to the lowest level of training under stress, you don’t rise to your best day so far.

Our motivation for moving from G19s for carry was primarily weight and size. These are carry guns and reliability over everything is the goal. When I borrowed a friend’s for a couple of months, we shot hundreds through it. My wife and daughter immediately improved due to their relatively small hands fitting better on the 43X. My splits were ever so slightly slower after full size Glock grips for 30 years. I have since trained out of that.

My SIL still carries his G19.4 but I am buying him a G43X soon. He works hard, full time firefighter, volunteer firefighter for 2 depts and gives 100% to my daughter and grandson.

Now on magazines, I am sold on the current iteration of the PSA 15 round micro mags. Our 6 are the “micro slick” polished ones and have been 100% in all pistols. I have one friend (another 43X) with 4 of the black mags with one stoppage on one mag on the first use, then 100% for hundreds of rounds (I borrowed this gun and shot it a lot last fall). I have another friend with a G48 and 4 black mags with zero stoppages.

All have the newest red followers that came out last summer.

A 43X with 15+1 onboard is a hard hard weapon to beat for capability and ease of carry.
