What are your thoughts on the best precision 1pc 34mm scope mount. I have used nothing but the M brace mounts since they came out. I still like them the best for mounting since they dont twist the scope at all. Im considering giving the gray ops or the area 419 mount a try. Whats your opinion? This will be used on a prs gun.

Both the Gray Ops and Area 419 mounts are top shelf options to use for PRS, but my preference is the MPA BA Mount. Lots of good options on the market. I have a friend who shoots PRS regularly that experienced a cracked ARC M Brace mount a year or so ago.

Another vote for Area 419. They are my go to moving forward. I have 2 of the their regular 1 piece, 1 of them in 34mm on an ATACR 7-35, the other 30mm on an NX8 4-32 and 1 of the cantilevered in 30mm on an ATACR 4-16, all 3 with their diving boards.

Looks like i'm going to give the 419 a try. I like the looks of the gray ops a little better, but i have also seen the de burring issues first hand on other gray ops parts. The machine work has always been top notch but the last step of getting the burrs off is important. The M brace mounts cracking I have to assume has been fixed, i have never had one Crack and I have 5 along with several of the guys I shoot with. There is always a chance they just had a bad batch of material. I do like how the area 419 has the guide pins to help keep the cap from twisting, and i also like how they make the fasteners in house so they can choose what ever they want. I dont like how the rail clamping portion is moved inside, I just dont care for the looks and I also dont like the raw aluminum, but I get why they do it, I'm just not convinced it is needed. Thanks for all the input.

I’ve had more than a few 1-piece mounts, but always end up sticking with my old standby/trusty MPA BA mounts. I know they’re not the newest or the most expensive, but they just work and are solid, and them having compatibility with Spuhr accessories has allowed me to tack on my Send-It levels without any fuss, as well as being able to add a diving board for slapping on my Xero or using to mash the gun down into a bag.

If you want beefy and don’t mind a bubble level hanging off the side, I also dig the quality of the Hawkins Precision mounts and that they come with a diving board out of the box (I do wish they offered a version without the bubble level though).
