JP rifle HP bolt/firing pin question

A couple years back I traded into an 18"JP LRP 308. Fantastic gun and shoots fggm sub moa. Came with the proprietary JP HP bolt and firing pin.

GF likes to make noise, not a bad shot but just enjoys shooting what costs the most. Put a 50 on the table and she wants to shoot it like it's a 22... anyways. I had some loose tula steel case and Hirt 7.62 in the bag so I gave her a mag full to plink with. Broke the HP firing pin. Hard primers, is this common or just random bad luck?

I purchased a couple hp firing pins and a JP standard bolt and firing pins, gas rings for both. Would a standard JP 308 bolt and firing pin be less likely to break in the future with fggm or surplus? Any other maintenance parts I should get? Thanks in advance

I feel compelled to mention, the JP high pressure bolt uses a smaller diameter FP tip size , than the standard 308 JP bolt w/ its "normal" FP.

Just making sure you are aware.

DO NOT mix and match the various manufacturers FP sizes... Over sized FP in to small a FP orifice bolt face hole , could get stuck.

Or too small could result in easily pierced primers, from the lack of "support" around the primer.

Rant off... Lol after seeing all the different FP tips sizes out their I couldn't help myself , and went down that rabbit hole.

As for your firing pin breaking... I would bet that it has to do with the steel cased ammo. Harder primers is one thing, but steel cases do not release for the chamber walls as "quickly" / easily as brass cases. So the system is working harder to function. There may have been some added stress, from the steel cased ammo.
I assume the Hirt. ammo is in good condition ?

And JP products are plenty tough, including the small diameter FP and FP orifice hole in the bolt face.

Agree. I’d also recommend contacting JP. I’m certain they’ll replace it
