All,
I wonder if someone may have a picture of the escutcheon that the front sling swivel on a M40 screws into? Preferably separated from the stock, I know I'm asking for unobtainium but it's worth a shot. I might know what Remington used but need to see a real one from an M40 to confirm or disprove my idea.

Is this a the correct front sling swivel used on the M40? I know the loop is not the correct size, but the rest seems to check out. 7/32x40 thread, and the escutcheon looks right.

Is this what you're looking for? I purchased these about 10 yrs ago. View attachment 8741234View attachment 8741235
Andy,
Those are for the M40A1, I have been trying to find a picture of the front swivel for the M40 and so far have been unsuccessful. The swivel in my picture is from a Remington 725 stock, I thought I read somewhere that Remington used "in house" parts and thought it made sense. Just hoping someone could verify if this was in fact the correct swivel arrangement. I'm sure the swivel and euscheon are right, just not sure about the other piece that goes on the shank and keeps the swivel from digging into the stock
