My GS starts kindergarten next Thursday. I am just in a whirlwind, cannot believe he is going to be 6 in December and is starting school. Plan is to let him do k-2 or so before homeschool. The elementary school property backs up to our land on the other side of one holler. It is not far from us on the road either. Has a great reputation as unwoke. There is a thriving homeschool network here too which we’ll join at some point.

In the wrong pick up line. A very irritated looking lady rushed over to correct me. I said I did not know. In her most authoritarian voice she said, “I’m telling you the correct way now.” Stopped short of calling her Peppa Pig and said, “I heard you the first time.” She scurried away to confer with some other portly lady.

The DIL was concerned because they can cut you in the first semester for any reason.

Many moons ago in my hometown a Snap-on truck was involved in a pretty heavy wreck, tools slung all over. The scene looked like Los Angeles during looting. Upstanding citizens in the truck along with those scrounging what had gotten ejected from the vehicle. A sight to behold.
