Good day, gentleman.

(I hope this is not in the "PX" forum, as I read I'm not allowed to post there yet. Let me know if I'm in violation please.)

I'm looking for advice on suppressors, and I don't trust the AI completely on this.
Is it worth getting a suppressor specifically designed for 300 blk (9" S/A 1/7; 5/8x24)?
1. Will it be that much better in terms of affecting reliability and cycling than a generic 30 cal.
2. Will the suppression be significantly better (quieter) than a 30 cal silencer which can also be used on other rifles?
I guess I am asking for approximate percentages, like >10% or >20% better to justify?
These things are quite expensive where I am, so if the difference is negligible in both regards, obviously having once that can be used on 6.5 or 556 would make sense.

I've heard good things about the Hyperion and Omega, also looking at AseUtra and cheaper options - the goal being quiet AP, without sacrificing reliability or accuracy.
My understanding is that, generally, more length leads to better suppression and that titanium is a good option.
I was also told to avoid 2nd hand as they can lose their effectiveness after a few thousand rounds.
Other than that, I am open to advice.

What is your budget?

There are a fair number of quality suppressors that are uber quiet! When I was building my 300BO SBR, I researched a bunch and was originally thinking about the CGS Hyperion but after a bit more research found that the Otter Creek Labs - Hydrogen L 7.62 was virtually as quiet, but was HUB mount compatible, which was one of my criteria, as my 300BO is a backpack gun (folding stock adapter allows it to fit into a Gammut 3.0 backpack) with QD mount for the suppressor.

Dead-Air makes some good suppressors, as does Rugged Suppressors, Abel Co., CAT and of course Thunderbeast Arms.

Thanks for the reply.
I've hear good things about Otter Creek.
Thanks for the HUB mount suggestion, I'm looking into that.
Budget is probably the equivalent of 500-900 in USD.
So then a 7.62/30 cal is fine? Is there any benefit / reason to consider cans marketed as "300 BLK suppressor"?

In my opinion (for whatever that is worth [lol]), I wouldn't go with a "specific" 300 BLK suppressor (ex. SureFire SPS300). My research found that the quietest cans are CGS Hyperion, OCL Hydrogen L 7.62 and TBAC Magnus.

Given your budget, you might have to go a step lower than those I mentioned above. My OCL Hydrogen L is super quiet. There are other cans that are pretty quiet too...though I have no experience with those.

Here's my OCL Hydrogen L on my 300BO SBR:

I would like to see what you end up with . I run a yankee hill phantom stainless steel 308 can and it really isn't an issue on an 8.5 inch blackout But hang that puppy on the end of a 24 inch barrel and you certainly know it . I think I could beat a moose to death with that can . I am going to be shopping for a new lighter weight can after the first of the year . I have had this one for 13 years .
