I get it. I’m trained in the dark art as well and had a manual trans’d daily driver for a long time(until I had kids and had to get a land yacht suv). But, man, most auto transmissions and especially the ZF 8HP are absolutely amazing nowadays

The 8HP is a solid gearbox. I spent the last 7 years wrenching on Maserati's, Alfa Romeo's and BMW's which all had 8HP variants. During that time I was dealing with a C7 with an 8L90 which is the single biggest pile of garbage of any modern automatic. What a pile of shit. Never again.
