Well.....Bye Jimmy Kimmel

Frankly, as far as I'm concerned, Kimmel and all the rest including Colbert, can learn to code.

What's amazing to me is how many people have completely forgotten all the censorship and cancel culture that the Biden/Obama administrations perpetrated for years and years. Now Kimmel gets a boot to the ass and they're all squealing about Free Speech.

The only answer should be "fuck them".

I’ll repost this here I posted it in the portajohn. It’s not all fact it’s piecing together a plausible situation from random bits of info.

I’ve been reading/listening to a lot of stuff, pretty sure he only had a couple years left on his contract. Late night TV is near dead and been on the decline for a decade or more. Kimmel was warned multiple times to STFU about Kirk possibly from advertisers bitching. He was told what was needed to keep his job and he refused. He quit with extra steps pretty much. Kimmel got to go out looking like a hero martyr to the left and I wouldn’t be surprised if he writes a check for the hundreds of people on his team as they all became unemployed immediately when he was fired again looking good to his people.

The guy made $15,000,000.00(and it may be more) a year and been on that show over 2 decades. It’s not hurting him getting fired really it’s theatre. He can go the rest of his life being rich and blaming trump for him getting fired a few years early

Kimmel and his ilk don't give 2 shits for the"little people", he's not cutting a check for anybody. And yeah he is crying all the way to the bank.

Maybe it got brought up in this thread already and I missed it, but remember when Kimmel essentially was trying to blame his youngest son's heart condition on Trump and Trump could have been responsible for his son's death because Trump was wanting to repeal Obamacare? Kimmel is a fuck millionaire and can afford the best doctors on the planet! He's not on Obamacare! Billy Kimmel recently celebrated his 8th birthday and God bless him overcoming his heart condition and looking like a normal healthy boy now. His dad may be a piece of shit, but no child deserves to go through what he did.

Kimmel is such a fucking hypocrite! I can't stand his fucking smug words, his show, or all the bullshit he spews, and his fucking sobbing BS, hence I don't watch his POS show!

What we should do as a country is start putting everybodies potiential to earn money at jeopardy for saying the wrong things. Sounds like a perfect idea and a way to make the country a better place for all. Maybe we should have the mods ban anyone that says hurtful things about Trump and Joe Biden. How could any of this possibly go wrong?

Hopefully, everyone feels a little better today knowing that some POS human lost his jobs because someones feeling got a little bit hurt!

The culture we create to fight one side, will be EVERYONES culture! Firing people for words sure smells a little bit like killing someone becuase of words. Not the same, but they sure smell very much alike.

I never thought I would say this but you just got schooled by @Maser .

The government isn't firing them, their employers are. The First Amendment only protects freedom of speech from the federal government. Not from employers firing employees that make their business look bad and lose customers.

I hesitate to say this but while I totally hate Kimmel, the arrogant left wing shit…I love the Constitution more.

That is not to say that a corporation can’t fire the little fuck for any cause they want….they can and I’m glad. But it is to say that Carr and the FCC need to shut their pie holes. And yeah, Carr walked back his comments the next day….perhaps someone gave him a copy of the 1st A

i believe there are obligations to the truth tied to an fcc broadcast license that don't apply to you or i.
disney offered to allow him to apologize and retract his lies, and he refused.

/i do agree that carr's comments have allowed the left to spin this as censorship...which is just another lie.

It does seem that there is some more nuance to this than I originally understood. I am still concerned but mostly assuaged.

When blood is hot, and mine had been since this assassination, we most check ourselves and those acting on our behalf. I learned this the hard way after 9/11 and again during Covid. We found out who controlled “Truth” during those times.

The actions we encourage and sanction today, are the barrels of hot lead that we ourselves will face one day.

Free Speech must be absolute.

Predictably, you completely missed the concern.

Now I’m going to use a hypothetical example here, so I’ll try to go slow for you.

If you set up a dog kennel that’s specializes in taking Pitbulls. But the new administration doesn’t like Pitbulls. So the IRS calls you up and says hey we’re not happy about your views on Pitbulls. And if you keep this shit up, you’re going be looking at some audits. Now you turn around and fire, the person that initiated the pitbull endeavor.

No, technically, the government didn’t make you fire the pitbull person. That’s fucking obvious.

This was the original concern. Pretty damn simple and questions, I wish I’d asked and talked about after 911 and during the initial months of the Covid outbreak.

No matter what you think or say, folks questioning/ talking about these type of behaviors by our government are the good guys.

There is a difference between speech and conduct. There are limitations from the FCC on what can and cannot be said in broadcasting. Employers have their own rules as well. As Maser stated the FCC didn't fire him, Disney or the parent company did. We do not get to see the contracts or rules that these companies have in place.

ABC got a ton of email complaints from viewers and advertisers were shitting bricks, they're in the midst of some merger that has to be approved by the FCC, and Kimmel has ratings that are way behind the competition. They told Kimmel to apologize and he didn't want to so fuck him, he can start a podcast.

more lies. trump didn't fire him, although he did react to the news.
it wouldn't shock me if disney execs suspended the show just so their scumbag groomer friends could lie about it.

Just lies from the left. They have ramped up hard doing online narrative curation. Mostly AI generated I think, but leftists love it like fly’s on shit.

The problem with pursuing some utopian vision for equality is those of us who don’t have the luxury of living day to day unattached to what is actually happening to us/them. “This is wrong ambush site” comes to mind.

The Fairness Doctrine was a policy requiring balanced coverage of controversial issues that was repealed in 1987.

The Equal Time Rule requires that U.S. radio and television broadcast stations must offer equal access and comparable advertising rates to opposing political candidates.

And yes, there is a requirement in FCC licenses related to serving the public interest. As far as I can tell, this has never been enforced or at least not with any frequency.

The public interest standard is a broad condition applied to broadcasters (over-the-air television and radio stations) that use a public resource—the broadcast spectrum. This condition does not generally apply to cable, satellite, or online content.

The First Amendment explicitly prohibits the FCC from censoring broadcast material. As a result, the FCC's power to regulate content is "circumscribed," focusing on specific, legally defined areas.

But here’s we we get them…but if “mostly peaceful demonstrations” didn’t invoke it then not much else will. I think this is honored more in the breach than the tradition also.

Despite the free-speech protections, broadcast licensees are legally prohibited from intentionally distorting the news. The FCC will investigate documented evidence of intentional "rigging or slanting" of news.

And yes, this ^^ all is copy and paste. Lol

This is likely the real reason Kimmel get let go. Morning shows on Rumble get more viewers than this.

Exactly, with the USAID funding cut off, all of the sudden being a propaganda arm is no longer "fashionable". "What do you mean we need to pay for this ourselves!?", some C-suite executive probably.
