The ringing in the chamber I'll say isn't from gas leaks at the junction of the steel and brass case body. It's because of the different material and pressure alone that is ringing the chamber. The steel and brass will expand and relax at different rates under pressure.

I could be wrong but that's what I feel it is and has nothing to do with gas leaks.

Sounds like Sig has it figured out for the mil guns and from the limited data that I've been told the 7BC will work as well for how it's designed being an a steel alloy case and not a two piece design.

As well as... shooters/reloaders and it doesn't matter if it's a all brass case, hybrid or an all steel case... you start doing this and doing that and you have no access to actually getting the ammo pressure tested your only guessing as to what is going on.

Run any gun any caliber at 80k psi that is not built to handle that kind of pressure... and you will need that hammer to open the bolt and extract the rounds out of the chamber. Try and do this on your own and you can only fool mother nature for so long or should I say better.... try and defeat the laws of physics. It's going to catch up with you somewhere and there will be a price to pay for it along the way.

I remember an ammo maker calling us up and asking if we can repair a pressure port in a ammunition test barrel. I asked why does it need repairing? Guy on 3rd shift accidentally loaded pistol powder in a 308win round. They estimated the pressure at 120k or 150k. The electronic sensor they where using stops reading around 87k psi. It blew the sensor out of the barrel and lodged it into the concrete ceiling! The sensors are like $3k each.

So the newer high pressure rounds they had to come out with sensors that can handle up to 100kpsi.
