When I was dating my wife, I would refer to her as my girlfriend. She told me she hated that term, so I asked what she wanted me to call her. She said, anything except girlfriend. So from then on I referred to her as the slut ho bitch that lives we me. She was happy, I was happy and we both loved to watch the reaction of people when I would say that.

I know we like to have fun, but this is a very serious issue and the pain of raising one can be a very great burden. I know this is the bear pit and I'll probably be mocked for being a sensitive hippie, but the trauma of having to raise one can be very taxing and is a 24/7 commitment of love and work that has no equal. We should really not make fun of people with special conditions. Remember that these special needs children are a gift from God and we need to care for them with all our heart and soul.
