Tikka bolts are all the same OD. a 223 can be opened to a .5 magnum.Does Tikka make a .44_" (6ARC / 6.5 Grendel) boltface?
Or, think there is enough material to open up a 223 Rem boltface for a 6 ARC build?

You’ll be fine having it custom cut.
There is a thread about this in gunsmithing. At this point, any competent gunsmith can do it.Thx. Any recommendations on who does it?
Does this yield consistently good results, or is it still a hit and miss affair?

Who did you use to do the bolt work?
We're there any other considerations to feed / extract reliably?
I’m told in a chassis with AI 308 metal mags it works great too.

16” Roughtech Ranch is sweet with a suppressor.I'm looking to buy a new, medium-range target focused (sub 500yds) T3x in 223. Which of the current US retail offerings would y'all recommend if I don't want to splurge for a SV or an ACE? I was leaning the 20" Lite Compact, but EuroOptic has the Ranahan for like half off and it comes threaded (the fancy irons would be going in the safe).
If only they still imported the CTR or Varmint I'd be all over one those without a second thought, but such is life.
I have a left over Burris Six XE 3-18x56 FFP SCR2. So at First I will use this, and i am planning to Upgrade later with a Burris XTR PS. But before changing the scope, I want to Switch the stock with an Aftermarket Stock, maybe an KRG or PSENice, what scope do you plan to use?
You're starting your daughter out shooting a braked 30 cal? Poor kidGood mourning,
I am looking for a muzzle break for my daughters Tikka Super lite, 308 caliber. The barrel is 5/8 x 24 thread, nothing special. I want the muzzle break to fit the contour of the barrel as close as possible. Any ideas or thoughts on a brand / model?
Thanks,
Charlie112
The .308 Superlite is no joke with recoil. Some also come with a metric muzzle thread instead of the 5/8-24.You're starting your daughter out shooting a braked 30 cal? Poor kid
yea i'd use this opportunity as an excuse to get a new rifle if I was him. a braked 30 cal is getting close to permanent hearing damage range even with ear pro. don't do that to a kid, they won't shoot well with the blast either. the 8 twist 223 and 8 twist 243 (if 223 is illegal to hunt with in your state) are perfect youth guns. I'd lean 223 so it can double as a trainer for you. shot this boar with my 20" 223 recently, with a good bullet like 73 eldm or 77 TMK it will still kill very well. The .308 Superlite is no joke with recoil. I agree, if you can get a suppressor, please buy one. No, she already shoots rifles with breaks, cans,,, this is a project of hers... and I understand where you are coming from. We have a CTR 223, purchased from EURO OPTIC a while back. The 223 is not what she wants to use, she has a Tikka lite in .223, to each there own I guess,You're starting your daughter out shooting a braked 30 cal? Poor kid

He didn’t even say how old she is, I assume she’s not 8yo. Why are you guys concerning yourselves with assuming what’s best for his kid? He knows what she needs and asked for a brake recommendation. You're starting your daughter out shooting a braked 30 cal? Poor kid

As far as matching the contour. What about the tikka radial brake? This is a 300wm. I’m not sure if you can buy them aftermarket, but I’m sure you could find a takeoff.

Europtic is importing the CTR 223 again, call and ask to talk to this guy: Jacob T, 570-368-3920. He sent me a price quote on a 20" black 8tw ctr just a few days ago. They're special order and will likely take a bit, but for the price I don't know if there is a better rifle available sub $1k. I'll likely throat mine out a ways to get near 2.520 with 75 or 80 eldm.I'm looking to buy a new, medium-range target focused (sub 500yds) T3x in 223.
