Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

I had an older gentleman bring in a new X5 complaining that the lane departure warning was not working. I road test and it is working without fault. I bring it into the shop and run faults (for due diligence and the extra .5 labor time) and check for relevant faults. Nothing, send it. Next week same X5, same complaint. Again, road test and its working perfectly. My brain is trying to wrap itself around this and it hits me. I go ask the advisor to call the customer. With the customer on speaker I ask if the key fob he left with us is the one he uses or the spare. Its the spare. the customer had selected lane departure off on his key fob and not on the spare.

That's the problem nowadays...all this tech, so people can play on their phones and be warned when crossing the line. In my day.... :)

We simply kept our eyes on the road and stayed between the effing lines (and didn't leave 7 car lengths behind the guy in front of us at a red light).

Man that’s a POS, but I want one. I was a sailing mother fucker back in the day my dad’s buddy always had nice boats and he taught us to sail. Luckily for him I took to it and would drop what I was doing to go so he never had trouble finding someone to do all the work while he sat back

I’m a loud motor mind of guy, but there’s something about sailing.

Is it puff power or poof power ?????

My turn. 30 yr dealer tech so tons of stories, but these are my 2 favorites. I'm standing at the service writer's desk, customer says "it sounds like a baseball rolling around under my seat". I went out and looked under his seat. You will never in a million years guess what I found SMH. Next one, guy brings in his bottom of the line new Lexus. Dash rattle. Drove it, no rattle, boss says fix it. R&R the dash, foam everything. Guy comes back, says "dash rattle". R&R the dash, foam even the stupid stuff. Third time boss drives the car, nothing. Tells customer to come in and demonstrate noise. On the test drive the customer tells me it's a waste of time because it only makes the noise on a sub-zero morning when he backs the car out his driveway over the curb.

I'll tahe a shot. Bought a new Tahoe in 2000. Not a month old there is a rattle in the dadh, passenger side. Tech test drove, could not duplicate. Advisors tells me maybe it was something you had in the vehicle. Hear the rattle before I get home. Take it back the next week, same result. Advisor is adamant, could not duplicate so I ask for the service manager. He tells the advisor to send the tech on a test drive with me.

"There it is, you hear it?" No. After four of five times he says, "Well, I have only partial hearing in one ear and almost none in the other." Drive back to dealer and ask for a different tech.

They replaced P/S air vent; rattle ceased.

But, but…if I don’t leave 7 car lengths, then how will I be able to creep forward every 30 seconds the whole time I’m waiting for the light? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Stories like this should have their own thread

This one didn’t happen to me but I’ve heard this exact story from a few other friends from different manufacturers. Customer says there is a noise from the suspension and takes tech on a ride. When they get on the road customer says “It only makes the noise if you’re going about 60 and hit a big pothole”. Both of my friends say, emphatically, “Do not do that!” Customer proceeds to duplicate the complaint…

While working at a tire shop we had an earthquake. Not 2 minutes later a customer drove up and said there was something wrong with their car and it was not driving right. I informed them that we just had an earthquake. They thanked me and drove off.
Positive part is…at least they are paying attention to how it drives.

Not waiting for something fall off like most people

My curiosity has me wondering. Occasionally, Carlos Danger will post a frowned face or even an angry face at some of the hotties on here. I have carefully gone back and “researched “ all of the hotties, and see that most of the unhappiness with Carlos is on the ones of rear end shots with thong style panties. So, @Carlos Danger , fill us in. What’s up with the unhappiness over hottie asses. It’s not all the hotties, just some. Fill us in, inquiring minds want to know.
I think you're on to something here, sir.

I am the latest victim of @Carlos Danger's metrosexual mansplaining merit system on why seeing women with perfect posteriors make him "sad."

Sure, many of these meth-heads with daddy issues and tramp stamps people post might warrant one here and there, but I usually post high-class, high-maintenance classy chicks...but let a fitness hottie slip threw the wire with a perfect ass and...you guessed it—pounced on it like Joe Exotic in a bathroom stall at a Village People concert.

He's definitely suspect.
