But, do you have the book they went in ??

I did when we were trading in them. They'd be given out at either Supermarkets primarily (not gas stations). I recall how the check out clerk would punch in the amount on the little dispenser machine and it would spit out the correct number of stamps (including the "fat boys" that were worth one row of the smaller stamps.

little blue ones ?????
Unsure, sir...but texting sis to see if she remembers. I thought they were in addition to green stamps and he received them for cigarettes, but I'll find out (googled Viceroy or Chesterfield stamps, but nothing jogged the memory).

Found a link in the archives for GS, though:

***Wait. Maybe the ones he saved were for smokes...found this in the back of that archive link (but he didn't smoke them, I don't think, so must be other brands added along the way...maybe).

I was VERY young and not as well-versed in boomer lore as much as some of you. ;)

Heheh…

See the blue seal on this pack

That was normal on all American soft packs. Does anyone remember the ones in Subic that had a pink and white seal? Real Marlboros would cost you about 20P on the street if I recall correctly, the local version with the pink seal was about 5P. (20P/$ back then). If you had had enough San Miguel, and it was late enough, that five peso pack looked like a deal. The next morning, when you’re hung over ass pulled one out and lit it without noticing the seal, your lungs would jump out on the table. I swear they were rolled with dried banana leaves in the street sweeping.

State tax stamp? I remember no stamps overseas. Name brands were as low as $2.17 per cartoon.
