Got a USP 9mm elite, I’m not sure how I got so lucky to find a woman that puts up with my dumbass and buys me nice things

Unfortunately no case, it’s a used one from 04 but I definitely intend to shoot the hell out of it.

The trigger seems wrong for it though, like a DA only when I dry fire.

Lots of people did the LEO/DA only conversions to their USPs or a hybrid of the USP Match trigger with components from the LEO trigger. There is debate about which trigger set produces the "best" USP trigger. Its possible that is what is in yours.

I read up on some of this on other forums when I changed my 1995 matte stainless 9mm USP to the match trigger from the standard a few years ago.

If I remember correctly, straw man only comes into play if you're intentionally purchasing a firearm for someone with full knowledge that they are not allowed to possess one. That being said, a lot of shops get fidgety at any mention of you purchasing a firearm for someone else under ANY circumstance.

The final recipient of the firearm need not be a prohibited person, for the initial purchase to be a strawman purchase.

My understanding was as long as the person is from the same state and is a direct family member its fine.

Correct. And "Intent" holds a lot of meaning too. The recipient of the "gift" still is allowed to sell said gift too. Im sure it varies per state, but in the great state of Illinois we absolutely can purchase one with the intent to gift it. Who knows when that'll change.

Talked to my dad yesterday. For what feeder calves are going for, he can’t afford to butcher one. They all go to the auction ring. Not highland cattle specifically, but the whole US cattle market in general. $2500 + for a replacement heifer, or steer destined for a feed lot…

Yes...I am well aware! I am wanting some cattle but I am not willing to pay these prices.
We are considering Barbados Sheep. The wife is ok with those. I tried to get her interested in Jacob Sheep (4 horns) but she says absolutely not...reminds her too much of some scary movies...haha
