Hopefully, the family is suing the crap out of the MD School system as well as the Mfgr. of the AI system. It sounds like LE did their job correctly and didn't overexert. The key will be how well they explained the situation to the kid after he was cleared and if they offered an apology for his trouble.

Precisely. By "authority," I meant whoever made the determination to call LE to the scene, based on their interpretation of the pic.
