Does anyone use this for there .260. I am wanting to try two diffrent powders. This and 4350.

I think 4831sc is the same formula, just cut shorter. It meters pretty well from a chargemaster

I use 4831sc exclusively; 4350 is supposed to be a good powder to use for .260 also. Seems most people use one of those two...

For my 260 I use H4831SC to push my 142SMK and H4350 to push my 139 Scenars. Both powders are good for this caliber.

I think it's a good idea, SC, but have not found a use for it, to date. I don't know if the actual reason for it is that it meters better or that it packs tighter? BB

I've pretty much always used H4831SC for 260 with the 142 SMK.
And yes H4831 and H4831SC are the same.
As stated above, the SC does meter better.

I tested my 260 with H4350, H4831SC, H1000 and I think Varget just for kicks.
H4350 won out over 200yds under that it didn't seem to matter.

I played with varget fun fun as well. 4350 was definitely better for me. Still interested in R17 or R19 though.

Yes, I know H4831sc meters better, and I know it also compacts better; if there is a need to compress it. So, did those nice people at Hodgdon's design it so it would meter better? My guess is the second reason. BB

The R powders bug me due to the temp induced velocity variation. Where I live it's unacceptable to me. That said I know plenty of others who use it around here.
