Reloading Press Recommendations

I am wanting to upgrade my old RCBS Press. It is not the Rock Chucker. I have had it since 1978. It is a little bit short for what I am loading now.

I'm also considering doing some 1000 yard shooting and am wondering if the Forester Coax would be any advantage in that area. The other press I'm considering is the Redding Big Boss II. I like the orientation of the "O" frame for easy access.

The Co-Ax is a great press, it has more mechanical advantage than the Redding, no shell holders required, superior spent primer retention system, floating dies and shell plate aid in making straight ammo, I highly recommend it, BUT you already have a press that will work just fine, so my advice is to spend your money on other things like Redding Type S dies, Competition Seaters, Concentricity Gauge, Brass Bullets Powder Primers, Chronograph.

Excellent advice. Just about any decent press will load top-notch ammo. Your dies make a huge difference.

I would recommend the Redding T-7 press.
I use one and it is always set up for two calibers.

I have a CO-AX and it is great. +1 for good dies or more accurate scale, gauges or the like.

Co-ax is the way to go. If I did not get a Co-ax, I would have gotten a Harrel's:

To each their own. I had a Co-Ax, nicely made press but I didn't care for the ergonomics or pinching my fingers seating long bullets in long cartridges. Blood blisters are not supposed to be part of the reloading experience. I sold it in favor of a Redding Ultramag. Liked it so much I bought a second Ultramag and couldn't be happier.

I load with a rock chucker, its ok. I want to get a Redding Ultra Mag becacse the RC does not have a long enough throat. On longer cases with long bullets one can not set the bullet in the case mouth and slide it into the caseholder. The throat on the Ultra Mag is a lot more open.

Thanks to all for their recommendations. I kind of like the idea of the Co-Ax but the price difference between it and the Reddding is a consideration too. I definitely have to have more clearance than I have now. I have to push the bullet into the bottom of the seating die and slide the base of the shell into the shell holder.

I have had the Forster Co-Ax and have been more than happy... til someone whispered the words Corbin into my ear.... Now I might sell the Co-Ax and buy the Corbin CSP-1!!!

I had a corbin..Sort of like hitting a fly with a sledge hammer for reloading.
The thing is just, well...Fuking huge! it also needs a serious bench to support it..Preferable a metal stand.
For general reloading the CO-AX is a far better choice.

The bullet making thing is an endless rabbit hole and is both very expensive and time consuming...I ended up realizing I really needed a hydraulic press to do what I wanted and called it quits. You don't do it for the cheap bullets that is for sure.
