Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

Sometimes its funny but you derailed this one.

About the bipod, Charlie I think its's cool you came up with something to fit what you were using it for. I like seeing new ideas or ways to make your own version of something you need.

How about now?

I will erase my posts if the OP wants to clean up his thread.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

fireguyty, Don't worry it's like shooting a March people will question it until they do. Thanks brother.

LV gents are correct, I did it to get the rifle in and out of ports quickly and have a flat surface to rest the rifle on.

It also improves the feel of the rifles rotation on the bipods axis. It's less tipsy feeling to me.

Might not be for everyone but I like it.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

If you already explained it I apologize, but what did you DO to it?

Basically striped a Harris down to it's legs and mounted it to a spigot sunk about 5 to 6 down the stock.

EricCartmann, Hey bro please find some other form to clutter up. They guys are are screwing with are friends and are the real deal. They are out shooting matches everyday not playing with airsoft toys.

Looks great to me, but how does it feel shooting prone supported that far forward? My DTA felt funny with the bipod all the way forward, so I moved it further rearward.

Ty </div></div>

They only part I don't like is the front of the leg is hard to reach and release the legs. I am going to play around with moving the release to the back of the legs.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

Seems like a hell of an idea to me. Put the bipod further out on the gun and lowered the center of gravity by having the bipod closer to the gun. It also works better for what you use the rifle for and I'd say it took some sack to drill a big hole in your stock to try it out.

It's the first AI spigot style Harris I've ever seen on a Manners that's for sure.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

thats pretty cool i like it. i wanna make one. the pictures kind of suck to see exactly what u did

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

looks like it would load pretty good

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

You made it work for your aplication and fixed a speed bump in the road. I like the whole Idea alot. you have shown the problem and solution in one pic on the barricade.makes logical sence, Goes to show what I think/say alot to myself, Diffrent tools for diffrent jobs, need the correct tools if there not avaiable then make them ! Not that you need my aproval.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

Not seeing the details brings a tad of speculation. I would say if you have the spigot installed and have the corresponding well along with a lock similar to the AI with an adjustable bushing for tension with limiters for tilt? Doesn't appear than pan is an option.

I could see this being an option if there was enough interest.

I don't have limiters as don't see the need. It does have adjustable tension and I keep my bipods tight.

In shooting a ton of matches, hunting and plinking I have never felt the need for pan. When I had my Atlas I found to annoying as hell. I guess some people like it.

I am one that is trying to remove all the extra crap that is not needed in my pack and rigs.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

I was thinking on the spigot itself, if where it locked into the stock via a lock similar to the AI. The spigot could be machined so it couldn't rotate any more than a specified amount. If that lock had a spring of some sort or friction, one could then adjust it to their licking or if it had the same limiters with x amount of pressure from the lock.

Nothing wrong with yours, congrats on the innovation and willingness to try it out.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

Great idea. Thinking outside the box. Regards, Paul.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

Thank you. Nick shot the gun today I did not get a chance to ask what he thinks about it.

I'm sure if you were able to get this as far as you did, moving the release shouldn't be a big deal for you. Very slick solution overall.

Also, to you and everyone else. Apologies for contributing to the derailment of this thread and acting like a child. Won't happen again.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

I think this bipod set up has merit. Maybe when I upgrade my stock, I will look into a stock that will support a feature like that.

Also, thanks for the backside photos of the barricades. That is an added bonus for me as I am going to be building some for my multigun events here.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

I love the idea of getting the bipod off the bottom of the stock/chassis. I cant tell you how many times my bipod has been hit or caused me to hit my scope on barricades and ports.

You provided us with a good service by assisting EC on his way to a long vacation. Other hide users should thank you.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

I have a KRG W3 chassis that has the TRG slot on the front of the stock I'm going to try to rig something like this up for my rifle.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

Looks good. I have found myself leaving the bipod off for all the non prone shooting we do. More and more matches are getting us off our bellies and it makes it a lot more fun.

Now you just have to figure out how many clicks there are between mills and your set

See you this weekend. Need anything let me know.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

Wow, I've never seen a thread get derailed so hard by some douche without a mod stepping in to stop it.

Anyways, I've been thinking about tossing my Atlas just cause I don't like how long it takes to deploy it. I like your idea though......keeps the bottom of the stock slick for sliding on and off barricades, logs and whatnot.

Hmmmmm....I've got a KMW coming.....don't think there is enough meat up front of the stock to sink a spigot into.

I was thinking that with the pic mount on an Atlas, it might be easier to just quickly pull the bipod off before the round starts on ones where I would be shooting strictly through obstacles and not need to shoot prone.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

That looks like a great solution to your problem. Having the clean, flat bottom for support and the bipod when needed.
