How hard is it and will I need any specialized tools? I want to bed my Savage and there is lot's of info out there on bedding but I have not found much info or any links on taking the accutrigger off to bed the action. Any tips?

It is stupidly easy. Remove the bolt, remove one pin, it will slide out easily. Pull the trigger off the receiver. Slide the safety to the rear, pull the bottom off, slide the top part of safety off the receiver. That's all there is to it.

It's a bit older, was a "stagger feed" before I converted to CDI DBM. Accutrigger, obviously.

I have removed them, replaced them, pretty much did everything possible to them. Very easy to work with all models. Toughest part is getting the bolt release spring back in but that is still fairly easy. I always pulled the trigger before bedding, and fill in the gaps with clay. Although, if you are properly bedding a Savage there should be any epoxy that makes it back that far anyway. Better safe than sorry though.

I'm assuming you meant to say "shouldn't" about epoxy getting as far back as you said? Is that because you don't want to bed the tang?
