Going to work up a load this week. Start out trying the 105 Hybrids/4831sc, I'll post results.

Thanks again to AJ Goodard and Jon Beanland, great guys to work with.

Great looking stick. Can't wait to see the range results. AJ makes a great action. The 6SLR is very interesting. Keep us posted.

Regards, Paul.

Re: Bighorn, Beanland 6SLR

Looks like ole' Jon created another nice one.

***what a damn nice view. Must be rough having to live in such a pretty place.

Re: Bighorn, Beanland 6SLR

NICE!! I've got the same action on order. I'm going to see if Mr. Beanland can take it and a Kreiger barrel and do his amazing 6.5x47 Lapua voodoo with them. Or maybe the 6.5SLR????

Re: Bighorn, Beanland 6SLR

Nice looking gun Kevin, you gonna bring that thing next time you come this way?

Thanks Milo. I'll bring it along the next time I'm up your way, 1st or 2nd week of June.

Re: Bighorn, Beanland 6SLR

Good,
Keep in touch, I'll get more guys, and set the headbanger"s out.
Is my 6.5x47 gonna keep up, or do I need something more exotic?

You might have to get out that 6.5/300wsm Leopard!

With you behind the trigger of your 6.5x47 I'm gonna be trying to keep up with you! I'll stay in touch, probably on a Sunday again.

Re: Bighorn, Beanland 6SLR

Are you sure you posted a pic of the right rifle?

Congratulations on the new build!

Re: Bighorn, Beanland 6SLR

Very nice rifle. Congrats.

Re: Bighorn, Beanland 6SLR

Took it to the range today. Very encouraging results.

Loaded up 107SMK's and 105 Hybrids. 43, 43.5, 44/4831sc, CCI BR2. The SMK's were fired from new brass, Hybrids from fired brass. Loaded the SMK's with the idea of using them to fire-form. The SMK's shot slighly better. Been kind of focus on the Hybrids, maybe the 107SMK's will be the load? The 44 grain load produced the tightest groups/lowest SD's on both. Also loaded 6 115VLD's, [email protected] and 44. (Berger sent me a few sample, what the heck might as well shoot them). The 43.5 were almost all touching, 2982fps. Have some Dtacs coming, guessing will see similar velocity as the 115vld's. Will mess with the seating depth on the Hybrids and go up in charge to 44.5 and 45.

Hybrids 10 shots
44/4831sc
Ave-3062
SD-5.6
ES-16

SMK's 10 shots
44/4831sc
Ave-3053
SD-7.2
ES-17

100yds, shot prone-bipod-rear bag.

6.5CM/130vld, 6slr/105 Hybrid once fired case, case ran through die/neck turned, 243 case.

Re: Bighorn, Beanland 6SLR

Looking good! The rifle and the backdrop. Isn't it funny how every rifle he builds seems to shoot itty bity tiny groups?

Have you tried the hybrids .015 off?

I've tried jumping the Hybrids .015,.030,.045 and .060. As much as I wanted them to shoot, I'm giving up on them. The 107smk's shoot very well in my barrel.

Just received a box of naked Dtacs.

why did you decide on 6SLR instead of 6 Crusader or 243 AI ? </div></div>

6 Crusader, don't need the velocity. Steel matches I shoot have a velocity limit of 3200fps, want to stay below that.

243 AI, don't want to mess with fire-forming.

Re: Bighorn, Beanland 6SLR

so rather than fireform the 243ai you would rather resize and then trim the neck? sounds alot more work than just loading up and shooting the damn thing and then resizing after with 243ai dies?

How long is your barrel? seems like you could do better speed wise with H4350? i run 4831sc in my 243ai but there is a fair amount more than you are using.
