Just bought an 1897 Winchester that's been on my "list to buy" for a while. Awesome buy, awesome price, awesome seller here on SH, but it just didn't make me love it, and I don't think I'd shoot it like I thought I would.

Thought I'd start this thread so everyone can post a picture of:

"The One That Got Away"

-Rem. 700 BDL in .264 Magnum - returned due to bulged bbl

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

My one regret was that 40-watt range phased plasma rifle that I let go. I went back to the shop the next day and they told me that it had gone to some guy with an accent and sunglasses.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

The only one I really miss is the Springfield TRP Operator with a full length dust cover rail. Not the most practical pistol but it shot like a dream.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

Browning Model 71 in .348 WIN. I bought it for a song before the prices went up. Sold it because I was stupid and thought I could get more cash out of it. It shot great, hit deer like a ton of bricks and was a great carrying woods gun. I regret letting that one get away.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

The only gun that I ever regret selling now was my KAC SR25 EMC.....and Lowlight wants to charge a 1000 dollar mark up to get it back

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

I regret selling a few. I think the most painful may have been my Wilson cqb. I had only had it for a couple months when I went through my divorce. I got ass raped in the ordeal and had to sell off some of my favorite guns in order to buy things like furniture and dishes. I should have just kept the guns.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

CMP M1 Garand - Winchester receiver. Lock-bar rear sights. Dr. still hasn't been able to diagnose what caused that temporary loss of rational thought.

Ouch!! I've never even seen one of those, bet if shot like a dream.

Someone that lives a few miles away had their safe stolen out of their house. I think he had 3 or 4 wilsons, couple ed browns, etc., on top of bricks of silver and gold(this was 10 years ago). He's Finally starting to replace the Wilsons.

Funny how women always come out on top of a divorce, especially when they're at fault or a goldigger.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

Sold, many. Missed, none.

So many guns, so little time...

When you sell, you let go...

Also, that bit about only accurate guns being interesting? Obviously, they never owned an AK or an SKS.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

Both my FN-SPR's with Timney triggers, bedding jobs, Tac-ops bolt knobs, and CDI bottom metal.

One was in a A-4 and in a A-5.

Miss those sum bitches!

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

A arma ar stamped "up the IRA" had a celtic knotted shamrock engravimg on the mag well. Didnt shoot good, couldnt confirm if it had come from ireland. My only "intresting history" gun. Sold for textbooks

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

S & W Model 52 38wad cutter
Walter P5 in 9mm

Miss them..younger and stupider.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

All of them, I never had a pistol or rifle I got rid of that I didn't regret.

Pytons, 645 Smith, Browning HP (WWII version) Tons of Smith and Wessons, the worse being my Model 25 in 45 ACP that I sent back to the factory to have a 45 LC cylinder made. My 547, 9mm revolver. Model 19s 13s 15s.

Colt 1911s, Daytonics 45. Ruger Blackhawk flattop in 44 mag, Rugher Super Blackhawks.

My Smith 1917 Revolver (though this was stolen in a burglary).

I could go on forever.

I now made a pledge to never ever sell or trade a gun of any kind, I don't care how much of a piece of crap it its.

Never again.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

Working for a gunshop, I have bought and sold alot. The only gun I truly miss was a litle S&W 317 .22lr ultralight revolver. That thing was so much fun, I must have been high to sell it. I sold it to a pastor friend who wanted a lightweight carry pistol for his wife and they didn't have much money. Oh well, I will just have to buy another one.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

Sold off my Lee-Enfields (and all my other firearms) when I moved to the UK. Big mistake on all counts, I wish I never did any of it. Thankfully back in the states now...

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

That last one...to fund the next one...that will be banned

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

One I don't miss was my first 1911. A Colt Double Eagle Officer model. Dang thing would stovepipe, misfeed, and general only go bang a couple times without a lot of help. Also don't miss the Jennings .25 my wife won at an Friends of the NRA event. Traded it with some cash for a 92F that she still has a loves. I do kinda miss my Desert Eagle. Had it magna ported and with 19.2 grains of 296 I could double tap that baby.

gunjunkie45

i would keep the guns to, a pizza box has a built plate and get bottle water no need for cups

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

I bought an HK-91 around 1993 for $900. I sold it a few years later for $1,200 with the intention of buying another one some day after I funded whatever gun project I had going on at the time. I'd love to have another but not for what they are going for these days.

The only other gun I regret selling was a high serial number RIA 1903 that was 100% correct and in excellent condition.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

Only weapons I've sold was a POS Glock 19 . Hated it and don't know why I ever bought it in the first place .

Another was an Anschutz .22 8 shot revolver . Fuckibg thing never fired when I pulled the trigger .

Dont regret ever selling them . To be honest I'd rather sell an organ than get ride of anything I have now .

Would love a genuine Whermacht Stoeger Luger , 9*19 , genuine 1911 Springfield and a 1908 Mauser 6.5 * 55 . A good buddy has one and for such an old gun it shoots astonishingly well ... Love the old stuff !

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

S&W model 41
HK sp89
HK p7m8
my first 1911, colt combat elite
ed brown kobra carry

All the other stuff, I can't remember likely cause it was crap.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

!884 Trap Door Springfield, traded it even for a POS 30-30 post 64 Winchester around 1967. Cut down the stock on the M94 for my first wife so she could go deer hunting with me. She went twice, bitching about the cold, and making about as much noise walking in the woods as a herd of 3 legged buffalo. Oh, well, as I told my present wife, everybody needs a practice marriage.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

I regret selling my Ithaca Model 37 as it was my first firearm and also a very early S&W Model 41. That was the most accurate 41 I've ever owned. At least the 37 went to a friend for his sons first shotgun.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

Only thing I regret selling is my Savage HMR but its not hard to replace. Eventually, I'll pick up another.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

My Ruger P89 and P90. Ugly and heavy, but accurate, and reliable. Had to let them go to pay for diapers and babyfood a couple years ago.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

Sold an Uzi Model A. Don't miss it, since my .300 BLK SBR replaced it.

Sold a S&W 686. Gun was too big for me. I prefer my Dan Wesson.

Sold a complete pre-ban Colt 6830. Helped me finance my (far more reliable) 5.56 carbine. I don't miss it. It might grow in value as a collectible over time, but I didn't feel like waiting to find out.

Sold a Belgian-made Browning BAR .308. I NEVER should have sold that gun.

Sold a Remington 742 in 30.06. Probably should have kept it, but I have other 30.06 guns I like more.

Sold a S&W 4006. Good gun, but I've moved away from .40. I still have a fairly rare S&W 4040PD in case I need the ammo compatibility. If I feel the need for another .40 it will be a G22.

Sold a WWII Browning Hi-Power that had the Nazi proof marks. I couldn't afford Ramen at the time, and practically gave the gun away. I'm sick about that one.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

SOLD - to friend
MOSSBERG 500a - dont miss still have access to it
Reason - Built a Saiga

SOLD - to friend
Ruger MKII M77 300 Win - dont miss still have access to it
Reason - Ugly looking ammo was expensive... now i reload and have a $7300 rig.

SOLD - to FFL
MSAR STG E4 - sold it yesterday.. i will probably miss the looks of the gun a lot but it feels and handles close to an SBR
Reason - Bought a new Night Force, pup will be replaced by a 300 blackout in the future around next year

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

I have sold several of my guns over the years, and the only one I do not regret selling was a H&K VP70Z. POS with a 20 lb trigger pull.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

A beautiful blued 6" Colt Python. I didnt sell it, but my pops did. I wish I would have been old enough to slap him when he did... I'm sure he would have thanked me for that later.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

I miss the S&W Classic Hunter model 29s I had back in the 80s. Beautiful revolvers. One was stainless, & the other was blue.

Re: What weapons have you Sold? Which have you Missed?

I traded a 16" REPR for a mountain bike last weekend. I do miss it but I did not have a use for it. The guy did spend $6000 on the bike though.
