I'm thinking about sending my G34 frame to Zev Glockworx to have them shave the girth and back swell, and shave off the finger groves. Double undercut the trigger guard, and add their silicon carbide grip to the whole grip. While they have it im also going to have them install their extended mag release.

I will also be getting their fulcrum trigger, and skeletonized striker soon. May send off my slide to have some windows and lightening cuts milled into it too. Dawson ICE heavy magwell and Sevigny competition sights to make it a nice little competition gun.

Anyone have any experience with ZEV Glockworks?

This is a G35, but thinking about having the slide cuts and frame work done to my G34.

So everyone on this site who spends money upgrading rifles is a fool? People spend up to 5 grand on custom rifles and i'm a fool because i'm thinking about spending 150 bucks on a grip upgrade to give me an edge in competition?

right.

If you dont have a worthwhile contribution, just keep your mouth shut, yeah?

Re: Thinking about sending G34 frame to Zev. Thoughts?

in all honestly if you are any bit handy you can do most of this yourself. All of the parts are drop in and you can make modifications to the frame with a sharp file. As for the slide send it off to www.ccgunworks.com, Matt does amazing work.

ahahahaha! because stippling my grip so my sweaty ass hands dont slip is going to make me such an accurate shot!!!!

Adding a magazine release that is wider and easier to hit with gloved hands without releasing my grip is going to make me such a better shooter!!!!!

Re: Thinking about sending G34 frame to Zev. Thoughts?

Not a good idea. The divisions in which the Glock 34 is most competitive do NOT allow those modifications and so you'd be stuck shooting in a division in which your gun is not competitive.

If you want a limited gun, it needs to be a .40, period.

This comment is so stupid it's really not worth responding to and trying to argue with the guy.

As for the work... Glockworx does great work, and I'm sure you'd be happy with the result. I ran one of their fulcrum triggers in a G34 for a while and I thought it was great. Now, you did mention competition, so let me ask what kind of competition you're looking at. Slide cuts, magwells, some grip mods, and trigger mods that are externally visible aren't legal in USPSA production, which is really the best place for a G34. Unless you're talking about something other than USPSA I'd hold off on those mods since it'll put you in Limited division, but with minor scoring since it's a 9mm gun.

I shoot production now, so I really just need to do upgrades legal in production I guess.

I'd start with a good set of sights, swap in whatever lighter connector you like, and play with springs (striker/trigger) to see if you can find something that's reliable and you like. From there just spend money on ammo and practice a lot.

Re: Thinking about sending G34 frame to Zev. Thoughts?

my point is obviously you are not even close to being a good shooter so what the hell would you know about what works and what doesnt.

Does it show how many classifiers Ive shot? Hmm I believe that number to be 5... does it show that the only reason I shot 5 classifiers was so I would have SOME classification before I was planning on going to the pro am last year in Fla ... no, didnt think so. Does it show that I plugged a no shoot intentionally? Does it show that I had a malfunction during one of the classifiers? Theres a lot of things that just a number doesnt show.

The stock sights have been working well enough so far, but a set of sights is my priority.

I was just going to let Zev do my grip while Dawson had my slide. Dont want to shoot limited though. Didnt really think about that.

Re: Thinking about sending G34 frame to Zev. Thoughts?

Get the Sevigny sights with FO front, add a Vanek trigger and call it a day, once you start milling the slide and jacking with the grip the value or return on the buck is gone, plus you limit yourself/weapon to which divisions you can shoot in.

Re: Thinking about sending G34 frame to Zev. Thoughts?

Perhaps Im showing my ignorance, but why does the Glock in that link have a "Tin coated, Gold Barrel"?

Does the gold make it magic? haha

Honest question, not trying to stir up more strife in this thread

Because it looks cool. People like doing stuff like that to race guns.

All it does is look cool. The flutes and cuts on top of the chamber obviously shave a little weight, but it mostly just looks cool in conjunction with the slide cuts.

Re: Thinking about sending G34 frame to Zev. Thoughts?

If $2,250 for a custom Glock is "parting a fool from his money", then what is paying $40,000 for an O/U shotgun?(exluding the investment value)

Or $500 on airsoft
Or $1400 for an AK
Or $1,??? for a CounterSniper Scope
Or $1,000 for a Wilson Combat 870 12 ga pump
Or $5,000 for a Wilson Combat Tactical Supergrade
Or $15,000 or whatever for a CheyTac 408
Or $25,000 for a F/A M16 original pre-ban

Want me to keep going?

Or $40,000 for an electric car that takes 12 hours to charge and can only round trip 150 miles
Or $10,000 for a baseball that has someone's name on it

Who's the bigger fool? The idiot, or the one who argues with the idiot? And ya'll are all idiots accept for me.
