I have been looking at bags for a while I would like to use it for my pistol and rifle. I am using a backpack right bow but everything is crammed into it.I am thinking about adding this. I have a spotting scop, a small 1st aid, socks, cleaning solution, bore gujde, wind meter, hearing protection and eye protection for 2, data book, staples, staple gun, black marker. am I missing anything?Everything is in a old camelbak pack. let me know what you think. Got pics of yours?

Re: Another range bag question

Im using the large midway usa competition range bag,I havent had it for long but so far so good and tons of space! Long term durability I cannot account on, but I do know some people who have had them for some time and seem to be holding up well.

Re: Another range bag question

I am partial to the Eagle tactical gear and use the Eagle Pro Shooters range bag to carry my rifle and pistol stuff. The Eagle is built well and can carry a pile of stuff.

The only issue with Eagle is I think they are more focused on big contracts and they are getting harder to find.

Your list of gear is basically what I carry in mine

If you are looking for a multi purpose bag, take a look at these, on the pricey side but IMO well worth it.

Re: Another range bag question

Tango,
I have 3 of the Midway bags, 2 large, 1 small, I like them, not totally sure on the durability issue though.
I clicked your link, I bought mine on sale last spring, they were 35 to 40 bucks then, not sure if I would pony up that price for one.

Re: Another range bag question

I have the Midway small range bag, works great and seems durable, but at 33lbs with 2 hand guns, eyes & ears, mags and some ammo that doesnt even get the rifle goods.Im looking to go the other way to a back pack.

Re: Another range bag question

PLANO cordura (plumber tool)bags last forever, and are available in any size_ I have two,a black backpack and a very large o.d.bag(big spective,etc.,etc.) buyed ten years ago_ both are have a very stiff floorplate, good zips, pouches inside_rainproof,of course_

Re: Another range bag question

I use the Midway bag, I found out later it was a rip off of an American Made product, when I finally wear it out I'll replace it with something other than a MidwayUSA bag.

Re: Another range bag question

I have an uncle mikes, its a good range bag for hauling more than two guns and ammo. However, when its weighed down it carries like a big ol duffle bag and can be a PITA. I have a Maxpedition MPB and added a couple padded pistol bags to it. So it carries like a briefcase (closer to the body). I love that setup, wont hold as much gear but for 1 or two guns plus ammo and gear it is fantastic.

Re: Another range bag question

check this bag out it is what I use..VERY good qulity.

Street price is a lot cheaper around 169.00

Re: Another range bag question

does anyone have the midway bag I linked? I am looking for pics of the inside.

Re: Another range bag question

I've been running one of these for three years now and I don't think you can beat it for the price: CED Deluxe Pro Range Bag

Better build quality than the Midway which can be so-so IMHO; my CED has held-up very well.

Re: Another range bag question

I found it there, I guess 179 is going to be the cheapest, I can use it as a front rest also it looks pretty big.

Re: Another range bag question

I dig that CENTURION bag, may need to pick one of those up.

Re: Another range bag question

Maybe I am cheap but here is the large version of what have used for the past 3 years. I see that it is back ordered but not for too long. Mine has held up very well. The large one will hold everything you listed plus a few of the pistol cases if need be.

Large bag: http://www.lapolicegear.com/jumbo-bailout-bag.html

Version I use: http://www.lapolicegear.com/tabaoutbag.html

Plus here is a link to a pistol case that I have had for 3 years as well.

Re: Another range bag question

You mentioned wanting to use the bag for pistol AND rifle. I have the Midway bag you linked but I also have a Voodoo Tactical 42" double rifle case. The VooDoo is what I use when carrying multiple rifles, pistols and gear. There are lots of pockets and it seems to be well made. As an added bonus, it has backpack straps for easy carrying.

Re: Another range bag question

I have the Midway bag and am very happy with it. The only problem i have is the zipper pulls are kind of weak and all of mine with the exception of the big one on top have been replaced by paracord braids

Thanks I have my AR in one of those, and some mags in the pockets. I think the Midway bag is largenough for what I need but the the other bags would be good for when I travel. I can empty it out and use it.

Re: Another range bag question

We recently added this Range Bag to our OPMOD line. It's a solid bag with plenty of storage room. The pull out bag has a number of padded dividers in the side pockets, which is great for multiple pistols. The internal dividers are also removable and customizable to better suit your needs.
