For those of you that put a Sako Quad in a Manners stock, did you have to mill out the side area for the bolt release? When I tighten down theaction screws, it presses on the bolt release, causing the bolt to come sliding out every time I cycle the bolt. Will bedding the action help this out some, as it should rise rise the action up some?

*After posting thsi I checked out the inletting of the stock a little more and saw that the pin thats used to hold the pin into the bolt release was touching the stock. I ground down the pin, but it didnt make much of a difference. I think the inletting may be a bit deep. Hopefully bedding it will rise the action up enough to clear the bolt release.

Re: Sako Quad in Manners Question

Hey Stan, It sounds like the stock was not releived correctly for the bolt realease. You should have about .03" clearance below the lever. I just shot you a PM, we will get you taken care of.

If you bed the action it should be down on the rear recoil lug/pins, if you bed it high to give yourself clearance you will not be making full contact on the lug/pins in the stock. Really need the clearance to make it correct.

    Thank you

That is some good customer service... hunting down a post and helping a customer. Hard to find these days.

My Quad dropped in perfectly. I'm just trying to save my pennies to get a Manners stock for my CZ453 now.
