Sidearms & Scatterguns Need help Nighthawk GRP debate

Okay,
So, my local shop has a Nighthawk GRP brand new for 2450.00 out the door (after tax). I really want the gun but that's a lot of money and I already have a Nighthawk AAC (full size) 1911. I wouldn't even be debating this if it were a compact or commander frame. I'm thinking I should pass but damn it's pretty.
What do you guys think?

I would go with a Wilson Combat...especially, since both Ron Phillips and his son Jared are back @ Wilson. As I'm sure you know - Ron left WC to start Nighthawk and circled back to WC. I was told since his departure, there have been several QC issues @ NH. Maybe that's changed? But, for that much $$$ why take a chance?

I have a GRP and it all good, but it doesn't sound like a really<span style="font-weight: bold"> great</span> price. And it sounds like you're trying to convince yourself...

why not try a Guncrafter No Name or a Brown or have the Springfield Custom Shop build you something for around the same $$$ ?

I know, I do really like the gun. Here's the honest truth though.
I love my Nighthawk so much it's inappropriate. It is my favorite gun of all time but. Because it is, I am babying it something fierce. Not running it from the holster as much, stays in the safe at night because it kills me to think I'd have to use it and it would get taken away. So I'm thinking (poorly) if I had a second one I could run it harder, make it my go to gun. Honestly, I have more important purchases on my plate right now. It's just bothering me so bad.

F&$k I think I may pass on it. Been thinking about it so much I have a headache. If it were any other frame I would own it right now. If I were planning on running some IDPA I could justify it. I cant justify spending tickets for two to Hawaii for a redundant purchase.

I'm 180 out. Last time I was in Hawaii I didn't leave anything I need to go back for. I'd add another Nighthawk. I'll still be shooting it long after the memories start to fade. YMMV.

Eddie, little different for me, I dive and live in colorado and Im from Maui so friends and family and so on.

TOPO, I am with you I think I want a different frame more so I think I will hold out for a commander style or a T3. My local shop has a Falcon coming in as well which is still a full size but a damn pretty one.
Thanks everyone for the input. Ill get another NH for sure but Unless the deal gets sweeter I think Ill pass on this one.

Never pass on a good 1911...I have a GRP Recon and the thing still impresses me every time I shoot it. The price for a non railed GRP isn't what I'd consider a "great deal" though. Keep your eyes open for a better price, I've seen em for a couple hundred less.
