So I am getting .021 gap with the feeler gauges - tried a Butler Creek and it won't fit - any other options? My last resort would be a screw in ARD, with the ARD I wouldn't have to unscrew it every time I shoot and there is nothing to loose/leave behind.

Re: NXS Barrel Clearance (Pictures)

I have used a flip up and cut away the bottom to keep clearance - secure with black RTV

Re: NXS Barrel Clearance (Pictures)

I use the bikini cover and trim it with a razor until it fits.

Are scope coats an option for you. I have a couple that fit very snug but work.

Re: NXS Barrel Clearance (Pictures)

I have the same problem that you do. I trimmed the bikini cover with a razor until it fit. I bought an extra and cut the rubber strap between the covers and used zip ties to affix the covers to the scope.

i had the same problem with my s&b pm11 on my 40xb. i cut the bottom out of the butler and creek cap and put a tiny ring of glue around it and held it in place till it set. its on over 2 years now no probs and that rifle gets alot of use.DONT keep the cover closed as the glue is setting as the fumes from the glue wont have anywhere to go and could cause a blemish on your front lense

dremel to the portion of the Butler Creek that will be between the barrel, objective lens. If that doesn't work, go with what George said, cut a notch out of it. It looks like it might fit, might have a micron's worth of clearance, but that is clearance, nonetheless!
