I love my g/f and she keeps me in line, it's a mutual respect thing.

First, get off the island! Second, find a true North Seattle woman, or better yet, Spokane - Eastern WA...

I would *NEVER* date a woman from Mercer Island myself, although I tried but they just seem to snobby for me.

I biked passed a Mercer Island cop hiding behind his squad car with an AR15 in his hands.

But there's not a whole lot of people on mercer island or Seattle that scare me. I've been in teh worst places in Seattle at night and as long as you walk and talk like you own the place you do.

And I did.

I would say R. Lee Ermey because Ted Nugent pissed and shit himself for days to avoid the Vietnam Draft.

But regarding the relationship, I think the tone is set early and is very hard to shake. My wife and I have a good moderately balanced arrangement and If I need to over-ride her on something like where I work or decisions with my money, that's not a problem.

When women pull that upper hand thing, trying to grapple for a better position is hard if not impossible. I have no desire for women to wait on me hand and foot so I can't give any advice there.

It's a tough one in some ways, whenever I have had to put anyone in their place I end up totally losing respect for them as a person and lose all interest, male or female. So when it gets to that point it's pretty much the end of the road.

It seems like you have to establish all this stuff rather early on.

As for the situation...well if you make the $$$ in the household tell her like my dad tells my mother when she goes on a bitching spree. "I pay the bills and write the checks, i'll do whatever the fuck i please. You don't like it, leave it'll save me money." Some of that is joking but at the same time he's serious. He's looked at me several times and said to me "You know son if i hadn't gotten married, i'd be retired by now." lol Tell it to her like it is.

I know if i successfully make it out of med school and into surgery my future wife better have dinner hot and ready when i get home. I'll be damned if i'm going go to school for 15 years, pull 12+ hour cases, and then come home to someone sitting there waiting on me. Hell Dad and I expect that out of mom. No offense to her (she does work) but after a 12-14 hour day on the farm by God she better have dinner ready when we get home.
