I had a Gemtech 9 mm can blow up. I was shooting factory ammo, factory barrel and the end of the Can blew off with baffles everywhere. There were no baffle strikes, the can just blew apart. I called Gemtech and they said "send it back". I did 3 weeks ago. I called them 3 times since, no one answers the phone and no one returns my calls.

Any ideas how to get a return call from this group.

do you have confirmation it was delivered? if so, keep calling them.

im sure someone on here will have their number, other than the one posted online.

Pappa, which Gemtech unit were you using? I had a similar experience with one of their Tundra units. I was running 147gr. subsonic rounds and the can just simply broke into two pieces. The adapter was still attached to my Glock 17 and the rest of the tube lay 3-5 ft. in front of me. It looked as if you had took a bandsaw and cut the unit into cleanly. Gemtech took the unit back and replaced it free of charge along with paying my new 200.00 tax stamp, so I can vouch for their customer service as topshelf. They may be backed up with orders just keep trying to call them ask for Owen. If it is a design fault of theirs they will stand behind their products 110%.Don't badmouth them until you get rejected .Keep trying as we all know the suppressor market is blowing off the hook now with sales.

PB </div></div> I have had hard times getting them via phone but I did have success getting them via email after I said PLEASE answer this quick question. I got a couple word email back with the answer I needed. I have personally come to the conclusion that Gemtech is off my suppressor purchase list.

Yep, TUNDRA, same CAN , EXACT same result. Except they didn't do anything to help. I have called and emailed. I bought this can off a friend that was heading into the sandbox to help him out with cash. Got the stamp transferred etc.

Sucks , maybe there is a happy ending but shit this is ridiculous

Re: Gem tech blows up, gem tech ignores 3 phone calls

I just faxed them my stamp info and request to hear from them. I sent in with can, but who knows, maybe this would help.

Can you say AAC or Surefire? I can!

Are you calling their Eagle, Idaho site? 208-939-7222. They are usually good about answering during business hours. Usually 0900-1600 mst. If you continue to have issues contacting them, send me a message with your information and I will contact their LE Rep, he is a good friend of mine, and I would be happy to give him your information. GemTech has always treated me very well and I will be happy to help you keep a positive attitude towards them.

Re: Gem tech blows up, gem tech ignores 3 phone calls

Downrange made the call twice now. Yep, Owen responded back and is going to take care of it. PITA, but at least they are making good on it. Credit where credit is due.

Re: Gem tech blows up, gem tech ignores 3 phone calls

Sounds like you had some welds fail on you. They just did a recall on some 30cal cans for bad welds. Hate to see this from a good company. But at least they are fixing this for you now.

I don't think there are any welds in the Tundra. It's an aluminum tube and baffle suppressor with threaded caps- a modular pistol suppressor.

Yea, whether its welds or threads, it gave birth on me. Like said before, they are going to take care of it. EVERY mfg has problems, their response to it defines them. Thats why you buy suppressors from well known companies. And there are a lot of 4th tier SHOP SUPPRESSOR companies that I would be totally screwed.
