American guns redeemed?

Late night, maybe a re-run. The "Nock gun" episode. In the first minutes of the show, last night, they "spotlighted" a new stock for an AR. It used the recoil of the gun to create a "full auto" firing condition. I finally got a "hard on", for something on the show. Any body seen, or used one? Legality?

Re: American guns redeemed?

I have the first version and it was cool the first time I dumped a 30 round mag. Then I realized I just spent $20 in 3 seconds and it wasnt that cool anymore. I should have gotten a lap dance instead. I switched ammo to Wolf since it was only $5.50 a box but Wolf is such crap ammo the extractor broke the casing and the round got stuck.

Personally, I think its pretty cool to have anyway. Once in a blue moon when I take friends out shooting I'll bring it but something that helped a lot with the functioning of it was I had the feed ramps polished down.

Re: American guns redeemed?

I watched that with my wife for a bit last night. Did you see how much he sold that Mossberg .223 and S&W Governor to those gentleman from Florida for?

Re: American guns redeemed?

Looks like the Slidefire product placement paid off. I hope Gunsmoke got paid a shit load of money for it. What a bunch of suckers....

Re: American guns redeemed?

only thing that gave me a hard on was the bimbo with huge tits in pink that bought the 1911 sometime back.

Friggin idiots paid $8500 for MAYBE $2k worth of product and labor......

Re: American guns redeemed?

I think that the producers arrange the purchases and set the prices to make the work seem higher end to the general population.

Sheeple will believe anything on tv...

Re: American guns redeemed?

only redeeming done for me by that show is the idea we need to go back to radio only pre TV days

I know. Unbelieveable. I don't know how he sleeps at night.

Re: American guns redeemed?

Yea, if you could really get those ridiculous prices for the stuff he sells we'd all be opening up Gun Smoke franchises!

Re: American guns redeemed?

That Rich guy is a crook! Majority of the shit he sells isn't worth half what he asks for. The only way that show could redeem itself is if they have the mom and daughter to a strip tease for half the show.

The daughter reminds me of those giraffe head women in the mia water flavoring commercials, lol.

Re: American guns redeemed?

I like how Rich pulled the $10k figure out of his ass immediately for the two guns. I almost dropped by beer. It has to be for TV, or atleast that's what I keep telling myself. The "client" said that Mossberg MVP was the most accurate gun he's shot. That statement pretty much summed up his firearms experience.

You would be correct about that! I work in hte film industry and believe me when I tell you can't believe a single thing you see on TV!

Consider the poor fool sees that show, then the next day checks with the advertizer on the show and sees he can get that gun for half of what was on TV so orders one and pays for it right away because it's "such a bargain," without bothering to do due diligence and cross reference actual retail, used, street price and blue book values, which if he had would likely have saved him considerable money.

If you want reality TV watch COPS, all other "realty" shows are Fakeality and produced with scripts. Ask yourself why a show that is "reality" would need screenwriters?

Re: American guns redeemed?

I'm glad I don't own a tv. Those things fuck the brain up like crack. These types of shows really misinform the non shooting public and make people who are into the sport look like dip shits . This show and sons of guns. I put them in these category as kid cock and lady gaga. I hate tv.

Hm, I wonder if they take write in requests?

Re: American guns redeemed?

Ever notice that after they build a gun and let the customer shoot it, Rich grabs the gun right away. Why, the customer paid over twice the amount for it, let'm have it.

Re: American guns redeemed?

I stoped watching it when the fat ass was cutting barrels with a hack saw.

Re: American guns redeemed?

the boss's daughter has got it going on. i wouldn't mind putting a few musket balls in her barrels.

Re: American guns redeemed?

I heard the fat man is banging the daughter, just like in SOG.

Re: American guns redeemed?

I watched one episode where Rich was building a 1911 for his wife, but didn't stop to think that maybe adding silver plating to the frame and slide AFTER hand fitting the parts would fuck up the fit. Half bit hack.

Re: American guns redeemed?

I think the cost of the Bullshit helo rides out to the gun sales, and the pyrotechnic circus are rolled in to the prices he quotes.

Re: American guns redeemed?

I kind of thought the network would pick up the tab on that. Has anyone ever spoke with one of the purchasers to see what they really paid for those guns? I mean that Mossberg retails for less than 700.00 and while I know that custom work does not come cheap, really?

Re: American guns redeemed?

I think it goes , like this: $2000, for the guns, and $8000, to get your face on TV for your 15 seconds of "fame", as {oh by the way}, the "dumb ass" that paid way too much for a couple of guns! Thanks for the info on the stock. Might be nice, to "have in a drawer".<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Layton</div><div class="ubbcode-body">I watched that with my wife for a bit last night. I wondered the same thing. What a bunch of overpriced clown shoes.

Its a TV show, they are Clowns. STFU and Entertain me Clown.

That, too was the first thing that came to mind!
Holy shit, I thought....he did a trigger job on the handgun, and an "accurizing package" (BFD, probably just bedded the action) on the Mossberg... and a Leupy LER scope...

Was the buyer that much of an asshat?

Nothing like saying "Thank you!!!" as you're getting bent over and taking it up the ass....

Re: American guns redeemed?

You guys should be laughing at the idiots who buy from him. I actually root for Rich these days to see how balls deep he can get into a customer. The only reason why people are in there is to get on camera so if they want to pay outrageous prices let them.

Re: American guns redeemed?

When he traded the 50 cal for a custom bike i knew for sure he was a crook and the guy with the bike, well he needs help.MM

Re: American guns redeemed?

The best one was when they built the 10k punt gun, basically all he got was a well casing strapped to a railroad tie with a home depot door knocker for a trigger. i would love to have a go at his wife and daughter with 1000mg of blue lumber in me though.

Re: American guns redeemed?

Ban it? How much do you want to bet the producers are reading these and going, we got them now. I wouldnt be suprised if some of the crap we joke about doesnt start showing up on the show

Re: American guns redeemed?

I was watching Superman Returns last night when this guy was unloading a mini gun on to the police from a roof top when Superman flew in. Bad guy pans the mini gun on Superman and the bullets were like completely bouncing off of him, including one that bounced off his eye!!!! What a bunch of crap, there's no way that was real. First off, how'd the crook get a mini gun, much less the time to mount it to the roof of a bank building. I don't care where you're from, no bullet can bounce off your eye.

It was totally fake, I can't believe that the people that make these movies expect us to believe this stuff.....

Re: American guns redeemed?

Just out of curiosity, can anyone on here afford guns like that?????? (I mean in the $5000-$10000 range?) I've watched that show and have determined that I can't go there and buy ANYTHING from that store because of his prices, and I have a good deal of gun stuff and not all cheap. Just seems like the prices are out of touch with reality.

Re: American guns redeemed?

Maaco can paint a whole car for less than that. really though I have a friend that air brushes motercycle helmets for 150-300 depending on the number of colors you use and they look killer. red Creek does a three color camo pattern in cerakote for 270.00

No shit right. I loved how Rich whined about a 100 dollar profit on a pistol. Most gunstores I go to don't make any close to that on a pistol.

Re: American guns redeemed?

Funny thing though, when I watched that part the first thing that came to mind was that they somehow know that all these forums are giving them crap for the prices they are charging and used that as an opportunity to try and save face.

I agree the paint job prices and overall costs seem out of whack but on a $1500 sale they should make more than $100.
I think a LGS would make that on a sale at that price point or they won't stay in business and from that standpoint Rich is entirely correct.
You can't compare brick-n-mortar store prices with gunbroker or forum/Internet prices.
$100 GP on a $400~$500 retail sale is another story.

But they did make more than 100 bucks. There's no f'ing way that paint job cost 800 bucks. Try maybe 2-300 at most. They probably made 4-600 easy on that sale.

AG just makes me puke! He runs it like my local auto store. The guy gets his parts from Napa or Autozone just like me. He calls them up and gets that the part price is $100, so he charges me $200 for it plus labor. Even though the part shop delivers to his door. It seems like AG does the same thing. Doubles the price of any outside contractor's service price. So he made like $400-500 on the gun.

Don't even get me started on that POS winchester for $18k, WTF?

Re: American guns redeemed?

You guys get worked up watching the WWF too don't you.

It's entertainment, as in fiction. It's not a documentary. Do you honestly think these people just waltz in off the street with $$$$$$ to plunk down for the purchase of a canon? It's all staged, it's all Hollywood theatrics, not intended as reference material.

If you can't enjoy it for what it is you probably shouldn't watch it.

10-15 yrs ago you would never see this many shows on "mainstream" TV about firearms culture, now they are all over the place, even though some of them are better than others. I can't see how its a bad thing.

Wrong shows like this and Red Jacket make us all look like assholes.
