I am very interested it what shooters are running in their rifles in Tactical matches. I have had major problems in 2 major matches within the last 6 months. These are matches that are dusty, dirty, on the ground and in the wind. I run my trigger light, 8-12 oz, this may be a big part of the issue although I was in a squad at Score High when a shooter using the same brand of trigger that I was had an identical problem. Most of the comps I shoot require a functioning safety. This will eliminate some of the triggers on the market. It isn't my intention to bad mouth anyone's product. Just want to know what is being used sucessfully. Looking for real experiences.

Re: Triggers

Your trigger is too light, this is tactical and not benchrest. Can I guess that you were running a Jewell (maybe a Huber is #2 guess).

Tuned/adjusted right Remington's are hard to beat.

For aftermarket I like Timney, but have used others too.

PS...Post the trigger, action and what happened so others can learn.

+100 Bad ass trigger.

Re: Triggers

I run Rifle Basic and Jewell triggers been lucky to have no issues yet. I like my triggers set at 2 1/2lbs

Re: Triggers

Take a look at the CG Jackson...

Try cranking up your second stage to 2-ish pounds.

Re: Triggers

Recently installed a Huber 2 stage on my 308 and can say I'm not disappointed.

Re: Triggers

Thanks to all of you.
Jason, you are right my trigger is a Jewell. They have been beyond super as far as customer service and I am freely admitting that I have been asking too much of my trigger in the kind of enviroments I'm shooting. I have looked at a Timney Tactical, but it doesn't have a safety. Hoser, I have done some reading about Jackson triggers and I'm trying not to go 2 stage. Again thanks to all of you for taking the time to reply. It has been informative. Shoot well.

Re: Triggers

I shoot both benchrest and tactical and use the Huber 2stage for tactical. Never have had a problem with the Hubert. it is different than the Jewell but once you get use to it I think it is better for tactical.

Great trigger, but its sensitivity has kept me away from them. If you like a single stage, it's hard to go wrong with a Timney for the price.

Re: Triggers

I used to run jewells in tactical matches but have switched after a dirt issue. With all the money invested in a match I just dont trust it

I now run a Shilen trigger with no saftey.

Re: Triggers

I guess I've been lucky. I run a Jewell here in the desert and haven't had any issues. I've been out shooting in winds gusting 25-30 mph too.

However, I do plan on using the Timney Flat Trigger next.

Re: Triggers

I just installed a timney 510 with safety in my remington 700. This is the nicest trigger ive ever had. its set at a pound and a half and is very crisp. i love the wide trigger shoe. gives great feeling to my finger

Re: Triggers

I have put a Shilen in my rifle. It is not a Jewell, but maybe better in the dirt. Thanks again to all posters for sharing your experiences. Lots of good info.
