I know this probably seems likes a noob question... Got my first scope with target turrets and been to the range once. Got it on the paper with cheap m193 ball and shot a few groups. Picked up a box of Black Hills 69gr match and that will probably be my zero load. So when I zero it the turrets and want to shoot another load how do you guys record them? +.2 mil? And what about windage that can go either way do you mark the L and R? Sorry for such a simple question but looking at the log book pages it doesn't really say.

Thanks,MStarmer
Gun is Noveske 5.56 AR with a Vortex 2.5-10.

Re: Recording Turret settings...

I try to stick with a single load, but otherwise I just mark it on my ammo box (reusable for handloads). Since you're shooting factory ammo, use a range notebook or something. I write something like ".3U, .2L". Nice rifle and glass, by the way.

You'll probably develop a system that works best for you. The important thing is to be consistent and keep good records.

Re: Recording Turret settings...

Once I start loading a decent load I'll more than likely stick with that. I've loaded 55gr ball on my 550 but I wouldn't say it's exactly match grade stuff. This rifle deserves better so I'll just try and duplicate the Black Hills or Federal Gold Medal Match with RL15 or Varget probably and be done with it.

Thanks I just didn't know if there was a "standard" for recording the settings.
