What should i get... 10mm or the 44mag. . for hunting both would work but the 10mm would be easyer to carry if i planned on consealing. What one is more affordable? and better side arm?

My experience, .44 is slightly easier to load for. I had problems getting my hotter 10mm semi-auto loads to function reliably. In both a Glock and 1911,,,

Thanks,,, and i dont like how the Glock feels as well. good firearms just dont match my hand. .44 it is.

Have you put your mitts on a Gen4 20 or 21? Might just do it for ya.

The .460SW chamber is quite versatile, since you can also shoot .45LC and .454 Casull. If you don't handload, this allows everything from mild "cowboy 45LC" loads to super-hot .460SW and everything in between. Downside? Not exactly a concealable carry gun due to weight and size.
Same as any other firearm selection, you have to choose the correct one for the job. A .338LM has it's place, and so does a .223.

I would go with a Glock 20 with a Lone Wolf Long Slide!
I'm in the process of setting up a Glock 20 for this exact purpose, and I'll be hunting whitetail deer in thick backwoods up to 40 yds. this fall.
I did my research and I've come down to the Glock 20 as the pistol of choice. The 10mm has gained quite a cult following over the past few years. I'm usually a big 45 ACP fan, but the 10mm is an animal all it's own.
As for the 44 mag. Meeehh .... I've owned and hunted with them for years. Nothing big deal. Plus ... I don't like the freakin' ringing they put on your hands when you fire them with cold hands.
Do your research on the 10mm and you will find it to be the better choice for a pre-100 yd. pistol. If you're hunting beyond that .... you should be hunting with a pistol. Unless it's a TC Contender or Encore chambered in a rifle cartridge.

ask yourself these questions first.
In regards to power, you cant load a 10mm to reach .44 mag power.
however, 15 rounds of 10mm in a glock 20 is very comforting.

Para ordnance is releasing a 6 inch double stack 10mm this year, it would be perfect for anything if the glock is not your cup of tea.

Uhh, those videos are not very convincing that a 10mm is better than a 44 mag. It does seem to work well on whitetails at short range, though, no argument there.

A Glock is a fine gun, no doubt. A 10mm is a fine round, no doubt. But a 10mm Glock does not fulfill the role of a 44 mag revolver, and vise versa.
I think the concept of the question is either incomplete or flawed. A hunting gun is not a conceal carry gun. If you're hunting white-tail a 10mm, 45 acp, or short .357 will probably be fine (and all OK for conceal carry, right?) If hunting at a distance or for game over 300 pounds, the plain fact is a 44 mag will be much more reliable in killing.
I also agree that the .460 is a fine choice, although maybe not as inexpensive or easy to find ammo for.
Just buy 2 guns. There, it's settled. Just tell your wife your good buddy on Sniper's Hide said it was the best way to go.

10mm is an awesome cartridge.
Finding full power loads is very difficult.
There are numerous .44's available, of course S&W, ruger redhawk, taurus make several very good 44 revolvers.
If you like the idea of a 10mm, don't overlook the EAA witness in 10mm. It is a large frame CZ clone. A very good pistol at an excellent price. You don't have to have square hands like a glock.
There is also the S&W 610.

Going on the offensive? .44Mag, all the way. The versatility just in factory-loaded ammo is amazing, not to mention what can be done with handloading. Something along the lines of a 5" Ruger Redhawk loaded with the Buffalo Bore "+P+" 340gr loads (or the DIY equivalent) is a hell of a compact and powerful package. The downside is that rapid shooting with such a rig is extremely difficult, and creates significant limitations on its usefulness for defense. This is where a nice autoloading 10mm shines, IMO. Say what you will about the ergos or appearance of a Glock 20, but if I had to make some backcountry critter re-think its plans by using a handgun, this would probably be my choice.

I've played around with a buddy's N-frame .41Mag, and failed to see the advantages relative to a .44Mag... at least for hunting purposes. You're not going to pick up any significant advantage in sectional density, and with hardcast loads, I buy into the thinking that diameter is king. Now, for self-defense usage, its "tweener" status (between the .357Mag and .44Mag) seems to offer great performance (other than the "minor" issues related to the lack of modern factory ammunition, and the minimal number of platforms offering the chambering).
