Re: Kahles K624i

This scope makes me want to buy it so I have an excuse to get another rifle. +1 for Sport Optics - great guys.

Re: Kahles K624i

this is a heck of a scope guys, it's a contender with the best optical systems on the market, and it's got some great features like the top parallax adjustment that make it a little more lefty friendly than some others, speaking from that prospective. pictures to come tomorrow.

No big deal Frank.

I'm really digging the Mil4 as well. Hoping to be able to field it in the coming weeks. So far I've been really impressed with the field of view throughout the entire power range. No tunneling issues. The clarity of the glass is what I would expect from the Austrians. Solid adjustments. Nice and streamlined. I like the position of the illumination especially for lefties (no knuckle raking).

I was able to get the specs up today on the site. I'm taking the detailed photos right now and will have them up hopefully by tomorrow.

Jay,

Can you get a through the scope pic of the Mil6 reticle please? Hoping it's not as bold/cluttered as the diagram looks above.

Thanks.

Re: Kahles K624i Stepping Up To The Plate!

Is the Mil6 reticle related to the Horus style at all? Im liking that Mil4 reticle, probably would be the way I go on one.

Not sure. I'll look at the two reticle sheets tomorrow and let you know. Maybe Ken can chime in before I get to?

What power? The Mil6 pictures on our site were taken at 6x if that helps for now. The Mil4 was taken at 12x. They are actual pictures that are taken and overlaid on white.

Re: Kahles K624i Stepping Up To The Plate!

Chris,

Thanks for the link to your webpage on the Mil6, I hadn't found that pic yet. If it's not too much trouble a pic at max power would be great.

I'm looking at either this optic or the S&B 3-20. How would you say they compare in terms of quality, clarity, and ease of sight picture through out the magnification range?

Click on the small thumbnail and it will explode to a larger view. If I get a chance tomorrow I will try to take a picture and post it

In terms of quality I see no difference. Both scopes are a solid pieces of work. Clicks are firm on both scopes with VERY positive clicks. For those who don't like MTC turrets it can be a turn off for guys looking at the 3-20.

I like how Kahles has streamlined their scope giving it a slightly smaller (read thinner) footprint. Lefties no longer have to worry about raking their knuckles on the illumination control or have to worry about bolt throw. It is a rheostat control so no complaints there either.

The Kahles does have a longer footprint which might be a problem for guys using nightvision, however with more and more monolithic rail systems being available (both in ar's and bolt guns) it really isn't a big issue.
For the less manly men, the Kahles is a tad heavier if I remember correctly but not by much.

Optically tit-for-tat. Same with sight picture. Both scopes have and excellent field of view throughout the entire power range. For guys looking for more magnification that's where obviously the Kahles would be the better choice of the two.

Both scopes are of great quality. I really think it comes down to personal preference in feature sets (reticles and such) as well as what mission the scope is supposed to accomplish on your rifle.

I was sold on the 3-20 for my next piece of glass but the more I play with the 6-24 the more I'm leaning that way.

Chris,

Thank you! Your feedback and pic are exactly what I was after.

This one's going to be a tough decision.
