Just got my T-2A, and I noticed some voids in the inletting. Is this normal for there stocks? Never had one before, so sorry if it's a dumb question. Some are pretty deep, and one of the voids goes clear to the outer shell. If it's normal, no biggie then, just worried about stiffness. Thanks!

Re: Normal for a Manner's stock?

Never seen any voids in mine, but as strong as they are, you are still very good to go. Almost all stocks have some voids in them, most just aren't visible. I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Normal for a Manner's stock?

Yes, it happens sometimes but it's ok. When it's bedded that will be filled in. 99.9% of the time I open the stocks up an extra amount to make more room for bedding material. I paint them after all is complete. Bed the receivcer and bottom metal, it's GTG.

Good to know. Thanks for your input.

Depending on the build we put a heavy block around the front lug area and in front of the trigger. These areas have a lot of milled fiber and chop, if the guys get this mix a little dry it will create a rough area on the edge, which will sometimes make a small void. This will not effect stiffness of the stock at all, but it should have been wiped with filler before it shipped. Aim out of the country till the 30th, but if you call the shop they will get you taken care of. Thank you

Re: Normal for a Manner's stock?

Thanks for the response, and offer. If it's just cosmetic, it's no biggie. When my smith beds it, it'll just get filled in anyways. I have to say, Looks like I made the right choice with you over HS. You run a stand up company. Thanks!

Tom is one of the nicest and most helpful guys on this board. He stands behind his product 100%. This probably won't be the last stock you buy from Manners.

Re: Normal for a Manner's stock?

I love my Manners stock and the fact that Thomas Manners is available addressing the few concerns like this that I have read should be an inspiration to how companies should conduct business.
