very cool. I do have a question about your process. I have seen several gunsmiths do this when truing an action but never understood why. Maybe you can shed some light on it. Why the counterbore at the start of the thread tenon? I understand that you put a chamfer to lead into the thread but this could be accomplished with out boring some of the thread out. Only reason I can think of is to make sure your major diameter is where it should be rather than check with a gauge. Is this right or am I way off base?

Thanks

Great video Nate!

I can only assume your chambing in the TL-1, if so you gotta work on a video of that also!

Keep up the good work!

Super nice video, but your work is what deserves the big credit. You just made me feel even better about not doing this for business anymore. I would hate to have to compete with this on a manual lathe, because it would be imposible. Congrats!!

Very slick system you have going there. That's some nice handywork on the TBAS fixture.

Thanks for the positive comments.
As far as the counter bore on the action. I guess it would be for several reasons....one, to protect the thread lead in. also to help center the action with the barrel when assembling. The counter bore on these is a little less than one thread wrap.
As far as chambering in the haas...a guy has to have a few secrets

...just kidding. I'll be working on that video soon
