I have not herd anything from or about them lately. Is he still taking orders? Anyone have any pictures to post of his builds?

Re: Black Ops Precision

Mike Bush of Black Ops Precision is alive and well. He is busy like always, but as far as I know, he is still running BOP and has a full time staff working on orders on a daily basis.

I have seen some of the rifles first hand come out of his shop and they are all top notch. They probably do the best stock work hands down!! You would not be making a mistake getting one in your hands.

Re: Black Ops Precision

They are still alive & kickin' = talked with Mike yesterday and they are very busy.

Like Mark said = the fit & finsish on BlackOps rifles is absolutley flawless!!

Here's my custom built hunting rifle they did for me:

Re: Black Ops Precision

+1 on Mike being alive and well and working his butt off on any given day.

He's got a lot of irons in the fire these days, including his pending intro of their new rimfire rifles, including their own 605 custom rimfire actions and rifles, as well as 40X detachable mag conversions, just to name a few.

Mike is one of the good guys and you will never go wrong investing in any of the rifles that are produced by UGSW/BOP.

Re: Black Ops Precision

Thanks Guys for the kind words. BlackOps Technologies is very much alive and we're shipping a lot of rifles these days. We had a few challenges to overcome, but we've bounced back bigger and better than we were before.

We still have Tim and Colton in the shop and Clayton will be starting in October in our new finish room. Michelle is running the front end and handling Sales and Customer Relations.

I'm a bit more behind the scenes these days, as I'm also the CEO at Defiance Machine, but still very much in charge and continuing to head up development of new stuff. You'll see new rifles being introduced soon, to include the Rimfire platforms. I spend very little to no time here anymore, but PMs come straight to my iPhone if anyone needs to contact me.

Thanks again Guys and let us know if you need anything.

Re: Black Ops Precision

Hey, you guys quit bugging Mike, he is supposed to be building my rifle. Don't worry, you will be hearing more from BlackOps soon especially when I get mine. BlackOps builds nice stuff-you can put that in the bank.

Yours is coming along well Tim and I'll have an update for you soon. The 1911 will be started pretty soon as well.

It would seem BlackOps is up and running.
Had a text from Mike last week telling me my KUKRI would ship the next day;

I picked it up yesterday afternoon. now the question is will it shoot. As I drive home and glance at the temp outside, my question changes. I see 107 on the read out, the question now is do I want to shoot..... Yes, always.

So I grab a scope, put it on, grab a bi-pod and install it, grab a stock pack and slip it on. Look in my record book at some 7-08 rounds and decide to try a couple. I had a 7-08 before so I had everything on hand to throw something together.

Loaded some 130 SMKs over 41 grains of 4064 with a CCI-BR-2 to touch it off.
Loaded some 140 Nosler over 40 grains of 4064 again with BR-2 primer.
These are both pretty mild loads so I didn’t work into them, just went there.

Got to the range and took bolt out to line things up. Took the 130 SMKs and shot at center bulls eye, shot went high / left. Shot felt good when it broke, so I made adjustment off of it. Shot remainder of group. Then shot at upper left target with a group of 140 Nosler. At this point I walked down to the target just to give the rifle some cooling time. Adjusted scope and shot upper right with 130 SMK. By this third group, the heat off the barrel was so bad it was making it tough.

All in all, it would seem BlackOps is in the hunt towards making the best rifle available.

Re: Black Ops Precision

Icallem, I thought for sure I would see your Iphone 4S on your desk - guess not. Looks like an awesome hunting rifle and shooter. Man, that makes me want mine even more...why, oh why, must I wait...ok, momentary outburst.

"Man, that makes me want mine even more...why, oh why, must I wait...ok, momentary outburst."

If I understand everything right, your wait time is pretty short.

Had I thought of it, I would have tried to 'PhotoShop' a phone into the picture!

Re: Black Ops Precision

My first precision rifle was a UGSW Kukri 308 bought off a member here. Here are my last 3 shots (my apologies, I know how the forum feels about 3 shot groups, but they were my last three rounds) from Sunday at 600 yards.

My next rifle will definitely be from Black Ops Precision.

I almost hate posting this pic for fear of being called a liar.

"I almost hate posting this pic for fear of being called a liar."

My wife has a UGSW and a group like that is what she expects. If it does not happen it is not the rifle.
After the way my BlackOps rifle shot yesterday, with no load work up and first 15 rounds,,,,,,,,, well I'm going to be expecting the same.

Good shooting.

Re: Black Ops Precision

I am loving all the lefty rifles...may need to start a BlackOps Lefty thread.

Re: Black Ops Precision

All these rifles are making me excited for mine! I ordered mine back in November and have been slowly learning a painful lesson in patience (first custom rifle). I know it will be worth the wait in the end though, Mike puts out fantastic work!

Re: Black Ops Precision

Mike does great work!! Thanks Mike!!

Excuse me for the little arm in the lower left corner, my son gets excited about rifles as much as I do.

Mike, just a guess if you would, but what percent of the stuff you do is left handed? Seems there are more out there now, or I just never noticed.

Thanks

For a while, they just seem to come in spurts, but now it's a rather regular flow. We have 14 left handed builds in the shop out of 80+ builds, with more coming in.

Re: Black Ops Precision

I still have the only Left Handed Underground Skunkworks Perseus - just sayin...

That's a true statement and you're the only one that will ever own a UGSW Left Handed PERSEUS.

Re: Black Ops Precision

Glad to see things are rolling along well at Black Ops, and congrats on the Defiance position Mike!

Re: Black Ops Precision

Mike. It's been a long time since I called you last(been super busy). I'll call you next week to talk about my Perseus rifle and 1911 build. Glad to know things are still going well at the shop. Steve.

Re: Black Ops Precision

I have been so lusting after a Specter-BABR for so long! To me that is one of the sexiest rifles I have ever seen.

Re: Black Ops Precision

While I don't have a "Left Handed Underground Skunkworks Perseus", I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express!

What is that forward rail called? Where can I get one?

Re: Black Ops Precision

The front rail is a Badger EFR. You can find them on the Badger website.

Re: Black Ops Precision

Here's my UGSW Perseus in 6.5CM. The fit and finish is amazing and it's the most accurate rifle I've ever seen.

This is my new 25-06 that I recently received. I haven't had an opportunity to shoot it yet but the fit and finish is just as amazing as my Perseus and I expect it will be a shooter too. (try not to be jealous of my burned up grass...)

Re: Black Ops Precision

Mike, I have some 300WM ammo ordered, as I have decided not to relod for this one. I don't think I will shoot it as much as the others and I'm reloading for 4 different rifles now which is keeping my busy.

As soon as I get the ammo, I'll give it a go and get some pictures up.

You were right, this 300 looks great.

Thanks Arnie. All of the Match quality factory loads will run great in that chamber. If you decide to load for it, it's throated a little long, but well within magazine length.

Have not gotten the 300wm out yet, but got to shoot the KUKRI again.

It seems BlackOps has this building a rifle figured out. Only thing is, I had to use several 'highly skilled reloading' tricks to get this target.

First with the 140 VLDs, I was very sure to get them seated .005 off the lands, this due to not working into this load and not wanting a pressure issue with the bullet in the lands.

Second, with the 162 AMAX's, and this is highly skilled (I don't think just everyone is ready for this), I had looked at the chart, picked out a powder / charge, put it in the case, looked at it, didn't like where it came to in the case, dumped it out and went another route with something that filled the case a little more.

While I have been able to load around the short falls of the KUKRI, I think all will work out. This if I can just settle down and put all five where they need to be.

SARCASM font off.

Mike thanks for the great rifle, it is lots of fun to shoot, can't wait till it is something other than 100 everyday.

Re: Black Ops Precision

I think it was your knee that threw you off balance and it moved a couple of shots...no more marking boo-boo's - keep the pressure on and go for ten round groups HAHAHAHAHA

"I think it was your knee that threw you off"

I'll be glad when my knee is done throwing me off. I hate to think that I have the price of a new BlackOps rifle invested in a couple of holes in the front of my knee!
