Re: Black Ops Precision
It would seem BlackOps is up and running.
Had a text from Mike last week telling me my KUKRI would ship the next day;
I picked it up yesterday afternoon. now the question is will it shoot. As I drive home and glance at the temp outside, my question changes. I see 107 on the read out, the question now is do I want to shoot..... Yes, always.
So I grab a scope, put it on, grab a bi-pod and install it, grab a stock pack and slip it on. Look in my record book at some 7-08 rounds and decide to try a couple. I had a 7-08 before so I had everything on hand to throw something together.
Loaded some 130 SMKs over 41 grains of 4064 with a CCI-BR-2 to touch it off.
Loaded some 140 Nosler over 40 grains of 4064 again with BR-2 primer.
These are both pretty mild loads so I didn’t work into them, just went there.
Got to the range and took bolt out to line things up. Took the 130 SMKs and shot at center bulls eye, shot went high / left. Shot felt good when it broke, so I made adjustment off of it. Shot remainder of group. Then shot at upper left target with a group of 140 Nosler. At this point I walked down to the target just to give the rifle some cooling time. Adjusted scope and shot upper right with 130 SMK. By this third group, the heat off the barrel was so bad it was making it tough.
All in all, it would seem BlackOps is in the hunt towards making the best rifle available.
