Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

Wow, that was very informative dumbass. I've never seen operators with anything more than NV binos or a monocular. Clearly you have nothing substantive to add. I'd google an image of a retard's brain draw an arrow from your hand to it, but that's not worth my time. I assumed with all the ex-military on here, someone would know what those were.

Are you going to trade in all of your COD discs and try to buy a pair? If you do, let us know how they work out at the next airsoft match

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

I've got two GAP's one in .308 ,one in .260. four LWRC M4 SBRs, a REPR, a Kriss and about 20 pistols and bet I can shoot them better than anything you have in your kit. If you ever make it to the DFW area, bring as much cash as you want. We'll shoot whatever gun type at whatever range. Then you can go home and explain to your kids why you can't afford to buy them the next iteration of COD or wtfever it is.

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

ever heard that saying be wary of the man with one gun.....go have someone else stroke your fragile ego.

This place obviously isn't for you.

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

Does that some how give you street cred? Again, I think you stumbled into the wrong place with extremely thin skin.......but you got a bad ass collection. Is that what you wanted to hear? But everything looks pristine

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

Oh snap! Looks like the jig is up! You just might have enough suppressors to silence the nay sayers! Fucking epic comeback!

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

I was curios about the nvgs myself, and thought the responses were a little retarded, but I think you beat them by posting your list of firearms, and then beat yourself by posting a picture.

The guy asks a simple question about a pretty cool piece of gear and gets jumped on like fucking bounce house at a ten year old's birthday party! I for one am not breaking into his house! I'm digging the collection, buddy!

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

No, I asked a legitimate question that probably 95% of the members of the hide didn't know the answer to. I was never in the military. I'm just a firearm enthusiast. I hoped to garner some knowledge from the members of this site because I did not recognize a piece of equipment. Instead, I suffer condescending remarks from people that probably aren't even as skilled as I am. That's pretty unfortunate, considering we all have a passion for the same hobby, and the purpose of this site should be to enhance all of our respective enjoyments for marksmanship.

I'd like to solve the puzzle, Pat. Yes.

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

What's your point... Have you ever heard the saying, "The empty can rattles the most"

Just calm down, we are all happy you have a bunch of guns and you have to have all the cool guy gear, but one thing you can't buy is knowledge. So be nice and learn, and yes a little ball busting might come with it but that's the way it goes.

And if you read my first reply, it is a hotlink to the goggles that are made by L3. I only started with the ridiculous response when he started the I have such and such shit....by the way are you two neighbors? And before I said anything other than "seriously...you are ridiculous" I was called a shit talking homo.

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

Even worse than the OP's thin skinned labia and grandiose sense of self, is the line thats forming to suck this guys vagina simply because he posted his collection of MINT looking firearms.

Nothing worse than a phaggot fanboy!

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

A little ball busting isn't exactly the way I would characterize the responses I got. It doesn't encourage information sharing. It sounds more like a bunch of has-beens trying to appease their egos by saying new members aren't worthy of their knowledge base. Thus, undermining the purpose of this site. I only posted a pic after I was compared to a "one gun having COD playing wannabe." A little ball busting...please....Presumably, we are all adults. It wasn't a retarded question.

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

woah, clearly jumped the gun with the "we are all adults" comment

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

You asked a question, you got a pretty funny smart ass reply and the very next thing you said was, "Wow that was very informative dumbass."

That's no way to make friends

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

you came out of the gate swinging....

But here.

QUADEYE is designed around four, advanced, 16mm, image-intensifier tubes. Its modular construction permits the user to select between using only the two inner channels or four panoramic channels. Additionally, QUADEYE® provides for projection of avionics head up display symbology or the aircraft’s targeting sensor’s video image into the goggle’s eyepiece through a high-resolution display.

Developed from the IPNVG, the AN/AVS-10(V) WFOVNVG features a partially overlapping 95° × 40° (H × V) intensified FoV, where the central 40° of the horizontal field is binocular, while the flanking 27.5° portions are only seen by the corresponding eye. In development examples of the system, when viewing the outside scene through the WFOVNVG, a thin demarcation line separating the binocular image from the flanking monocular peripheral images could be seen, although subsequent optical development has minimised this effect. The WFOVNVG outboard combination eyepieces are fixed and non-focusing. The WFOVNVG also incorporates a fixed dioptre, necessitated by the non-circular nature of the left and right FoV. In order to achieve satisfactory visual performance for the widest possible range of aircrew, studies in the US identified a 'standard' dioptre setting of -1.0 which has been projected to be suitable for the vast majority of serving US airmen without need for additional corrective optics.

Sorry, I thought an image of a water bottle comparing me to a vagina and a rectum was relatively insulting and not intended to befriend me. I'll keep your thoughts in mind if I want to post any menial questions about obscure military equipment in the future.
Thanks

I'm definitely a fan of mint flavored vaginas. I mean, I prefer strawberry snatch, but MINT is tasty as well. So you're calling me a faggot because I publicly recognized the fact that the pack of .22 toting slap dicks got owned by a noob that got tea bagged for no reason. The noob has cool shit. Cool shit is good. If I had the cash, I'd bet $500 that the guy at least somewhat knows his way around a range. It's not like all of his rigs had a shelf full of Surefire gadgets hanging off the side of them.

Say, pork chop, yo! The way you be spellin faggot be phat, yo! It's faggot, you faggot.

Wow!!! thanks for the edification, pretty sure my comment encapsulated as much. This place is loaded with big timers.

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

It's not a normal Quadeye. But yeah, that's basically what it is, or a PNVG.

However,I don't think the quadeye supports video recording and I would expect that the video encryption and relay systems is a lot of what was on the helicopter they lost at the site, in which case I would have expected perhaps the SENVG over the Quadeye...

So I'm wondering how technically accurate this movie will be - given the director's previous examples, I'm inclined to think "not very".

Though I can't say that it's not what was involved either.

Oh well, see you all later in the Night Vision section of the forum if the bug bites

Your original question went something like: "does anyone know what these are?" My pictorial response was in reference to the "douchebags" in the photo. Not you. Now do you realize that you got your panties in a wad for nothing sugar britches?

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

the tier 1 units are currently using them. gives you almost a 180 degree view

That's really interesting. Are they just NV or thermal as well? I read on some other sites that they can transmit video.

Apologies, apparently I and everyone else in this thread mistook your picture as a jab at my question rather than a jab at the actor playing the SEAL team Devgru operative.

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

Without getting involved with the argument at hand, this is the best quote I've ever read on this forum. Epic!

Re: Zero Dark Thirty goggles question

Sweet collection bro! They sure are clean and shiny! And can I ask why the NV system is the primary optic on an AR15 and NOT attached to either of the bolt guns OR the GAP10? How's the cheekweld with that ACS? I bet it's really easy to carry with that single point sling. You should look into a SAPR for it

You'll have to learn that money doesn't buy respect here. No one cares WHAT you have because there's always gonna be a guy that has more and knows how to use it with lethal accuracy, if they haven't been forced to already while defending YOUR freedom.

I'm not taking sides here; you aren't the first to come in here and start challenging members' abilities but this isn't arfcom where the guy with the biggest stick rules. I'd bet a vast sum of money that Frank, Jacob, George, any of the GAP shooters or a myriad of other guys on here would mop the floor with you and send you cryin to momma. That's not an insult, we're extremely lucky to have guys like these to sponge information from but you have to eat your humble pie, shut up and listen if you wanna learn and earn respect around here.

762 is a staple on this board, an excellent gunsmith and another excellent source of knowledge so you can understand the backlash of calling him a dumbass. You came here for knowledge so don't bite the hand that feeds.
