any of you guys use this stuff? I hear carbine bubbas rave about it just wondering if its worth a damn for our bolt guns.

I bought some, tried it. My feeling is that it's fine, but no better for a bolt gun than synthetic oil and synthetic grease I usually use.

I ran it on my M4 during patrol rifle training.
I am going to give it a run on the "Budget Precision" project rifle and see how it works on a factory rifle. I am thinking that I could lube the AI with butter and sand and it would work just fine, so the Remington will be a better example of how if affects the feel of the bolt.

You dont get the appreciation that comes with Frog Lube on a bolt action. Frog Lube actually activates with heat. They were more or less designed for semi autos.

There are so many rules to follow (company directions) that I was hesitant, but it's seemed to run well on my guns. Smells nice too

i bought a 4 oz tub of the frog paste goop shit. can't hurt to try it out. if nothing else ill just use it on my AR.

Love it on my MA-TEN. Shines with suppressed rifles.
A friend uses it in his Savage bolt 22lr. He likes it a lot and says its easier to clean. He also shoots suppressed.
It is becoming like Franks Hot Sauce, "I put that shit on everything".

I use it on my TRP .45 auto and really like it. First it doesn't smell up the whole house so my gals happy. Second it's a great cleaner and lubricant in one. Makes cleaning much easier after shooting as well.

I use it on my AR rifles and pistols. It works like a CLP, but much better in my opinion. Smells nice and non-toxic so it doesn't stink up my house.

I pondered trying Frog Lube out recently since I just picked up the AAC 700. In the end, I decided to stick with Mobil1. I run it on everything and always have it on hand anyway.
Im still interested in it though, so I may have to give it a go.

Just started using Froglube and it does work very well but I can't stand the minty medical stink that comes from my AR when running it. Smells like toilet disinfectant.

I run it on my 700. It makes clean up a lot easier than hoppes + CLP. I feel like the contact surfaces might be wearing faster, but the action is buttery smooth, and my groups did shrink a good bit. But then again I couldn't shoot for shit when I made the change.

Since FL isn't as think as Mobil 1 or grease it seems as if there might be some more wear than you'd expect if you use it on your bolt lugs, where I've seen some wear on mine, and such. Then again it is my first and only bolt gun so I have little to compare it to. I wouldn't worry about running it in gas guns, I have it in my AK and my Sig, and my AR will get a FL bath when it's built. I did notice some better groupings and a slight vertical POI shift when I switched, which tells me I ought to be getting a little more v, but that's just conjecture. Until someone with some experience comes along and tells me my lugs have been galling and metal's been wearing off my lugs I'm still gonna use it.

I bought Frog Lube today, cleaned a couple rifles and pistols with it, thought they seemed to cycle smoother. IDK how it lasts long term, but I really like it so far. Anyone notice increase in velocities as their website states?

Been using Frog Lube for over a year now on AR 308,M&P 15-22,Sig 220, etc with no problems.Cleaning is always easy, especially the AR... treated barrel before break in and between round cleaning was surprisingly easy. There was zero copper fouling in the barrel. The bcg in the M&P gives no problems considering these are not a precision rifle.I have found no apparent wear patterns in any bolt assy's.

I discovered FL a little over a year ago at the shot show. got a couple free samples, the dealer selling it had a 1911 treated with it sitting under a running water fountian with the watter beeding off of it. this really sparked my interest.
I first treated a sig 238 of mine, strip, detail clean, liberally aply FL to entire gun, set in oven on 200 for 10 min. you may think im crazy but it works. my guns treated this way are the slickest ever. and do not rust even when abused, shot in the rain or left in a glove box.
on the bolt gun i liberaly aplied it to the exterier of the barrel and set it out in the sun for a few hours. i can now handle the gun with my bare hands and not have to wory about wiping them down with an oily rag when i put them away.
I also use it on the bolt sliding surface, cocking ramp, and lugs. after having already lapped these surfaces you wouldnt beleive how smooth my bolts are unless you felt them.
love it. carbon doesnt stick to FL treated surfaces well, After shooting a couple hundred rounds through a hand gun treated with it, carbon just wipes off.
no i dont get royalties.
I have even seen the inside of barrels treated with it and thoes folks are testing to see if carbon build up is decreased inside a bolt gun barrel.

Products like Militec-1 make the same claim but that's more probable based off all sorts of super secret concoctions of chemicals and synthetic flotsam. Frog Lube prides itself as biodegradable and 100% nontoxic. The MSDS lists it as food grade, so it's probably something delicious like bacon fat with some spearmint. I've even licked a glob of it.

Carbon doesn't seem to stick as easily which is a blessing for AR bolts. As far as performance, I'm not sure how it stacks up.
